This 150 years old school (estd: 1867) has educated generations of girl students and many of them are well established in their respective professional lives. With the basic tag line of "Shraddhaban labhate gnyanom", this school provides value-based education with the right balance of co-curricular activities , sports and exposure to modern world. I am an second generation alumnus of this school.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bad unhealthy environment. Rooms are not airy even very suffocating and very dark. Several unexpected incidents were happened in this school. Once a baby child was found in the bathroom of this school who was killed. It's not a rumour, it was published in many newspaper then , students are very indeciplined and also the teachers, they always busy in chatting with each others in the stuff room and sales sarees in the school. Most of the students in this School don't go to school because of the bad environment.

It has a playgroun, stage,proper drinking water system,toilet,library,developed computer and science labs etc necessary things. They also provide books,midday meal and all. It is very much safe for students as School gates are always guarded. Teachers are also good and students usually have good reputation in educatio, sports,co-curricular activitie.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's one of the oldest Girl's High School in Howrah. It was established in 1867. It is a Bengali medium girl's school. It is sponsored by Government of West Bengal. It's affiliated by West Bengal Board of Secondary Education for class X and by West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education for class XII. The result of class X and class XII is good. It has a good playground for outdoor games.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Shibpur Hindu Girls High School was founded by Jadunath Banerjee in the year 1867. It was started in a rented house in the Shibpur area. The house was destroyed by earthquake in 1869. The West Bengal government board enlisted it with their norms nd now it's is affiliated to the bengal board.
