A home away from home for ll Bengalis. Kali Mandir and a warm ambiance of helpful bengalis - one would find himself at home. You can stay here also at a very economic rate. Lodging and fooding are both available

The temple boasts of a placid and pristine environment. This apparently small temple has a rather vast premises inside. There are several Indian Medlar trees inside, which shower flowers, and impregnate the air with a soothing perfume. Although the Kali Murti doesn't differ much from the regular idols of the said Goddess, but there are some really eye-catching silver decorations inside the sanctum sanctorum, resting behind the Kali murti. The temple is visited by many people,at any time of the day, which certifies to its popularity. There are dust beans to dispose of the empty packets of candles and incense sticks, which seemed a novelty to me. The compound and the temple itself, are neatly and cleanly maintained by the authority. There are several smaller temples inside the premises, including a Siva temple. Situated on the G.T road, this ancient and famous Kali temple is only a few minutes away by a Toto ride, from Simlagarh railway station. Many Puja shops are available nearby. Timing: 6 A.M to 1 P.M 4 P.M to 8 P.M.

This place is bang on GT Road. Convenient place. It is experienced that people visit this temple to get the puja done by the temple priest on new cars, and this temple is famous for that.

Shimlagarh Kalibari !!! When I hear this name, I always think that, my grandmaa always visited here... so I also want to take a blessing from here... but my bad luck!! That, I can't give Puja... as that temple was closed... so, I had to stay calm... by seeing Kalimaaa ,only through a hole of door... Btw, the place is very peaceful and sacred.? And, yes, if you visit here, please try 'Makha Sandesh' from nearby local shops?... it's also the reason,.... you will visit here once again !!

Simlagarh Kalibari is about 600 years old, it is heard that robbers used to offer human sacrifices in Simlagarh Kalibari before going for robbery. This Kali Mandir is located at Simlagarh, Pandua. The name of Simlagarh was formerly Hariharpur. When mother Kali worship started in this area, there were no houses around, there was jungle all around. At that time, a Kapalik used to worship on the seat of Panchmundi in a mud house with a palm leaf canopy on top. The big robbers of that time had to worship there, including the name of Raghu the robber. Military activity began to increase in the area from the time of World War II. As people began to worship their mother out of fear, the number of devotees gradually increased. Later the temple was renovated and a bigger temple was built. The idol of the mother in the temple is not made of clay but of stone, it is painted every year. The worship of the mother in this temple started from the time of Lakshman Bhattacharya. Once a Tantric of that family came to perform Tantra sadhana and lost consciousness after seeing Normund (Human Head). From then on, goat sacrifice was started instead of human sacrifice.
