Trains here bifurcate into two routes one goes to Dhanbad -Gomoh - Gaya route
and one line Chittaranjan-Jasidih-Kiul route.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a junction from where Main line and Chord line of Howarh New Delhi Line bifurcates.
Main line goes towards Chittaranjan, Jamtara, Madhupur, Jasidih, Jhajha, Patna to DDU Junction.
Chord line goes via Dhanbad, Gomoh (change here for Bokaro, Ranchi) , Koderma, Gaya to DDU Junction.
Both line meets again at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction (DDU).
The station is 15 mins from Main road where you can get bus to Asansol and then from their to rest of the places.
However being a Junction, not much train stops here.. People use this station to board local trains to go to Dhanbad in Morning and Evening.
Moreover, People in morning coming from Jasidih side can board 5 AM local and get down at Sitarampur and board Coal Field Express to go to Kolkata in the morning.
Coalfield Express is at 6.45 AM in Sitarampur and reaches Kolkata by 10.30 AM and is always right on time.
People coming from Dhanbad in evening boards Black Diamond express from Dhanbad at 4.25 PM and then deboards at Sitarampur to go towards Chittaranjan/Madhupur/Jasidih in the evening.
They will get 5.30 local train coming from Asansol to go towards thier destination.
The station is famous for its Samosa and kachori which you get near the foot over bridge in the station.
The station also have goods train yard which acts as a buffer for Asansol Junction.
