I had a sports injury two years ago which left me with two herniated discs in my lower back . Since the condition continued for too long(i.e., Chronic) I gradually developed knee and ankle pains as well. I was making my best effort by seeing chiropractor/physical therapist 2-3 times a week and having 2 Orthopedics Dr. for consultation every other month. Thankfully, I was no more bed bound after making some progress in the initial 6 months, but it was still a far-fetched dream to live a normal pain-free day/life where I could handle my daily activities , simple things like a walk in the park, or fun little active playtime with kids. The trail of these appointments seemed never-ending , it took an emotional and mental toll of me to make them happen (along with my regular job!) and the financial burden was just getting bigger and bigger with Insurance not approving claims anymore. My life pretty much revolved around my back pain be it planning for kids’ birthday party celebration, a trip to Disney , or driving an hour to see a friend and - to say the least - the improvements/results were minimal to nothing. Just when I thought I had tried everything and was ready to accept and define this all as my ‘normal’ life I was lucky enough to find Umesh sir . His private classes are helping me get on a road to recovery that I thought was no more possible for me. His focus on treating a human body holistically as one unit where everything is interconnected (including thoughts!) is eye opening. My yoga practice sessions with him have been very rewarding and I now believe that there is a hope for me. All I need to do is have patience, continue my journey down on this path with him and NOT give up !

"Accept the pain, don't run away from it". Your magical line is a constant in my life. I substitute the word pain for any happenings/incidents/ challenges in life. Accepting life's happenings and going with the flow makes it smoother. Through births and deaths, through joys and sorrows, through every aspect of my life, YOGA is the solace/solution/comforter and pacifier. No wonder I feel I want more and more from Yoga. I have witnessed your ups and downs at different times and I admire and get inspired by your handling of issues. Hats off to you for conducting classes when you were barely able to walk or sit continuously following your back issue. That you conducted the class even for a single student instead of calling it off shows your dedication and interest and I'm glad to be that student. Thanks for accommodating me in all batches at different times. Most people are unaware of the efforts taken by you to set right our health issues. You research to the deepest level and even followed extremely tough/strict diets to give company to students requiring such steps. It gives me great pleasure to read student feedback about how you have changed their life positively. You have given us the wonderful chance of 365 days of Yoga through the online mode, I hope and wish many more people take advantage of this opportunity. I thank you sincerely for all your efforts towards your students. Before I write about my journey of getting out of the worse situation of my back pain, first I would like to grab this opportunity to thank Umesh sir for his guidance and effort he put on my case. Gratitude! Though there is lot to write when it comes to write about my situation and the support and efforts of Umesh sir, however I will try to keep it short as much as possible. :-) I had the chronic back pain situation. Starting of year 2020, I was going through sever lower back pain condition like pain radiating from lower back to legs. This was creating hurdles in my daily activities including office work and even I was not able to walk. After MRI scan, physical therapy was done for almost 2 months (twice a week). After a bit improvement dry needling was also done however neither of these could help me in getting sustainable results. Finally, Dr. suggested for epidural for pain management. Now it was the time for me to decide as I didn't want to go in this situation again and again. Thankfully that time one of my colleagues suggested me to talk to Umesh sir before I go for epidural. Sensing the confidence of my colleague, I felt some ray of hope and talked to Umesh sir explaining my situation. I remember the day when I first talked to him, his words were "you will be all right, but you will have to have patience and have to live this journey mindfully with your 100% efforts", echoes yet. Initially when I started yoga under Umesh sir’s guidance, I remember it was not easy for me to do simple stretching exercises and 10-15 mins walk without pain. He is so patient in listening the problems and treat in such a well planned manner that I didn’t realize when this 10 mins walk had been converted in 1 hour walk and I could perform the yoga asanas in 6 months of time. In first few months only i started to feel the effect of his guided yoga class and that encouraged me to put even my more than 100%. There were times when I felt that things are again going back to square however I would salute to the experience and level of excellence Umesh sir has in yoga and human anatomy that not only he took me to the path of overcoming back pain but also other repercussion of this long-time back pain. As I am on the journey of improvement day by day, I would suggest keep faith in this existence and there will be help in one or the other form. While I'm writing this, my mind is encouraging me to start the dynamic meditation now which I had to stop in early 2020. :-) Thank you Umesh sir!

My review is not just about my journey but for all those ladies who have lost themselves in catering to the needs of people around them. l joined sir's classes with severe knee pain and swelling around knee and bad shoulder,neck pain.I feel so great while writing this,that I m almost out of it now and all thnx to sir. His vision about body awareness is so clear that it makes you realise that all those things you were doing to your body thinking to be normal are actually working in all the possible negative ways for your body;even a simple yet important thing like sleeping position which was the culprit for my neck and shoulder pain,which sir made me realise.For my knee issue I even visited the Dr.,he referred me to a physiotherapist,I was not really convinced,started ignoring my problem thinking it to be nothing much and ended up in trouble,all thnx to sir that he showed me the correct path towards recovery. Initially my postures were custom made,just to correct my knee issue and I used to think why am I not doing what others in the class are doing but that was a deliberate move by sir to prepare my body to be able to do rest of the things also properly.Now,I can do many postures correctly. The way I keep my each step is with awareness now,I won't say I have become the best version of myself, there's lot more to learn from you sir. We females,all know how important our health is but that is just in the books or in thoughts but I would like to encourage you all to please don't avoid the problems,mental or physical,that you might be going through,push yourself for YOURSELF.Just come once,not to check sir's abilities(as he's really really good) but to find the real you.Yoga is not just an hour of physical activity but a change in your lifestyle. Sir,with true respect,I owe you alot. I also want to thank Anu ma'am,who silently watches you and corrects you, supports you as and when required. Hoping for a long association with yoga under your guidance sir and ma'am as you always say consistency is the only key.?

I joined Soham Yoga Studio in July 2021. I was going through many post covid issues like sleeplessness, palpitations, high concentration of carbon-di-oxide, severe body pain, etc. Also, I have been facing joint issues for a long time & there are arthritic changes with swelling and bone pain in the knee. After a month of joining, I slowly started improving. Now I sleep better & there is no palpitation. Sir taught me knee strengthening exercises which gives relief from pain and swelling is reduced to a great extent. The physical & breathing exercises are helping me a lot. Hello All, my journey with Soham Yoga Studio started in Jan 2019. God bless my friend who recommended Sir to me. This review is no match for invaluable benefit that I received after starting yoga under Umesh Sir's guidance. There were several problems. Most noticeable were Insomnia and Acidity. People who are even slightly aware of these problems would know their impact in day to day life. Doctors medicine were temporary relief. Only yoga helped. Umesh Sir guided us in right direction. His daily talks along with yoga postures kept me motivated. His way of handling on-going health problems and guidance helped us find root cause. His continuous recommendations on diet were a big advantage. It changed my life completely. Over past years, I have become more aware about diet , postures, pranayam and actually everything that I do. I am way more healthy and joyful now. I do not have to take any medicines. There is no bigger relief than having an excellent health. A big big thanks to Dear Umesh Sir for teaching us way of life. May God continue to bless him forever.

My journey with Soham Yoga Studio started in December 2019. I joined Yoga class during my second pregnancy period. Sir asked me do some basic postures, but it was difficult for me in early days. Soon I realized that if I want a healthy life then Yoga should be part of my life. Sir has abundance of knowledge in Yoga and explains various postures as per the individual need and capability. I faced some blood sugar issues during my second pregnancy, I never had any sugar related issues earlier with me or my family. I focused to maintain the sugar with exercises and Yoga and it really worked. Without much medication I managed that during my pregnancy and now I am doing perfectly fine. I had a normal delivery and this time from the labor pain till the delivery, it just took only 3 hours. I had a very smooth delivery compare to my first delivery which took more than 8 hours. Few tips for pre-natal females: 1. If your Doctor allows you to do exercises, then daily do at least 3 km walk and Yoga. 2. During your pregnancy, try to remain active entire day and stay happy. 3. Avoid high sugar and salted food. If your legs have swelling then do basic exercises. After 6 months of my delivery I resumed back and doing Yoga. I really feel positive and my concentration level improve significantly. Yoga has become a key part of my life and to large extent the credit goes to Umesh Sir. He has been a big motivator and supporter on this journey. Every morning, I look forward to my Yoga class. It makes my Day. Stay Healthy | Stay Happy | Do Yoga

Hi all, I am Devendra very glad to post my experience with Soham Yoga. I was suffering with Back Pain (mid back) from 2-3 years, at its peak I was not able to walk more than 10 mins. I slowly started increasing walk few mins every week. Doing consistent walk, I was able to walk every day 45min. During pandemic I started work from home, few days used Office Chair but I was getting back pain. I started sitting on bed with legs folded to avoid pain. For few months it was okay but then I started feeling pain in lower back. I started sitting on Office Chair again but in fear that now mid back pain will come back, especially as I do many long conference calls. I came to know about Soham Yoga from my wife. She was going from few months and she recommended me to join as well. Initially I was hesitant as couple of years back when I joined one Yoga Class but while doing one forward bending posture incorrectly my back pain got worst and I had to go for treatment. But my wife gave me confidence that Umesh Sir has good experience and would definitely help. I Joined Soham Yoga in Feb 2021. Sir started very slowly with some stretches and gave some specific postures. In a weeks’ time I started experiencing difference. He observed me very closely to understand limitations and slowly started working on them. In one month, time I was clearly seeing the difference. Only one thing I always reminded myself that I am not going to do any posture more than my limit and not going to give-up doing yoga for very long time. In past many times I joined Gym but never continued more than few months, as most of the time got myself hurt or losing interest. At Soham Yoga you not only get to learn practicing good yoga postures but you actually learn to work on many of your weaknesses. Sir is very good counsellor too, while doing yoga he always shares his experiences of different issues that people suffer through related to their physical and mental health. He is the one who helped me to keep focus and consistency, I am very happy and feel blessed that I am doing Yoga more than year now! I wish that this continues for many years to make Yoga as my everyday normal life activity. There is lot to say but let me put some prominent points to give you all that I have benefited in last one year 1.Huge relief from back pain and its fear. It does not go completely in the sense if do any overactivity I still feel it is coming back but then it goes away in a day or two. 2.I was not able to do most Yoga postures taught in class, I am now doing most of them. I know this is just a start and there is lot to learn and finetune the postures. But have confidence every quarter I am clearly going a step ahead. 3.Helped to practice consistency. I am very delighted that I have achieved the current level where I am and will become more and more stronger. 4.From 2020 my work pressure and number of work hours are increasing. Since I started practicing Soham Yoga it helped me to keep maintain my physical and mental fitness even in peak time. 5.Helped me to overcome my procrastination, there is a noticeable difference. I use to just think, now I action more than just think. I am now able to wake up early morning without my mind taking control of me giving excuse of tiredness etc. 6.Feeling lot more energetic and my physical confidence level has increased.
