★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very old, popular Temple of Devi Kanyakaparameshwari (Parvati or Gowri in her maiden status) on the busy shopping street of 8th Cross that attracts all shoppers-devotees to put a namaskaaram from outside or get in if time is on hand.
Devi is always very well decorated that inspires devotion in the heart of bhaktaas. The priests are courteous and even friendly with the regular visitors, enquiring how the family is doing!
In the same premises there is a smaller structure built for God Sri Satyanarayana and another that houses the Navagrahas. There is also a Sannidhi of Lord Ishwara separately.
As an annexure to it, they have converted the space beside into a "pravachanas sabhaa" by putting a roof structure above it. Daily one hour pravachana, a Jnaana Yajna, is conducted there by inviting pundits who speak on various topics of interest to the devotees. Prasadam is distributed at the end of the pravachana.
There is a footwear-stand that is manned and you can safely leave your footwear and go inside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Vasavi KanikaParameshwariDevi Temple.
Eight Cross, Malleshwaram.
Covid-19 Rules Apply.
Open for Darshan : 06:00 to 22:00 hrs ,Monday through Sunday.
Date of Review - 30th Dec 2021
This is mainly a Temple,Operated and Maintained by the AryaVysya Community of Malleshwaram, the President of which is RP RaviShankar, who incidentally is also the President of the Akila Karnataka AryaVysya MahaSabha.
Under him the Temple activities have seen and continues to see active community service, during the annual Vasavi Jayanti, ShivaRatri Mahotaavam, and various other seasonal religious activities in a very satisfactory manner, he's also instrumental in organising the "Annual Malleshwaram Shopping Mela" which brings additional cheer during the Dasara Festivities,he's also actively participated in the Covid - 19 Vaccination Program organized by the local BJP in aid of the local street vendors.
The Temple itself has Devi Vasavamba ( a Paryaya of Parvati Devi )as the Presiding Deity, whose Alankara Padatti practiced and performed by software engineer turned, Pradana Archak Shri 'Sutram Kiran Shastri' s/o Sutram Nagraj Shastri,is something of a phenomenon in that, that his unique style has been documented and recognized and certified by the, no less than
"The Genius Book of Records" for different Alankara on each day marathon for 365 days, as also awarded a doctorate by a host of other US and Indian institutions, and indeed these Alankaras are truly remarkable yet simple and can easily glimpsed from the street level, at 8th cross even without entering the Temple premises, and is a plus for the fast millineal crowd of today,as well as the furious, occasional cab driver.
The next presiding deity is Glorious Parameshwara.Who is the Devi's consort.
As regards ShivaRatri decorations are elaborately done on various themes like Kailasa ,and Samudra Vasavi, ( see pics ) etcetera, each year.
Also on going now and for the past several years is a program called
" Nirantara Jnana Yagna" everyday 19 hrs to 20 hrs a discourse dispensed permanently by Pt Ravi Kumar Dasa an Erudite Scholar of the old school methods of worship and Mentor and Acharya and proponent of the "SanatanaDharma" way of life.,also other Acharyas drift in and out of the stream throughout the year.It is a good way to keep the senior Citizens inclusive in the society as well as doing societal upkeep.
The crux of the Charitable activities adopted by the AryaVsaya Malleshwaram Sabha has to be the feeding of disabled and bedridden senior citizens in and around Malleshwaram, the program accommodates and provides food
thrice daily for many beneficiary and abandoned old and forgotten souls.
Apart from all the above regular activities the community people can avail the " VasaviMahal" a multi purpose Hall for the seasonal ceremonies, marriages, upanayanam, sharada, and AGM's etc the hall can easily accommodate a three hundred strong crowd.
All in All I can give a seven on a scale of one to ten.
