But I think cooking soda may be added in rice. Not pocket friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tucked inside the roads of Banashakari opposite Katriguppe road, this homely mess serves you Andhra style meals, biriyanis and non-veg dishes. The taste is good for your stomach. What many posh restaurants serve at atrocious tariffs, this one gives much better dishes at way less rates. Service is also very fast.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried this small place on recommendation from friends. Basic set up with about 10 tables. No AC. Nothing fancy. Clean and neat. Service is quick. The biriyani was OK. A little high on coriander. Neither donne nor dum; somewhere between. But the highlight was the mutton. Very soft and juicy. The mutton roast was excellent. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Well cooked. A little high on spice.
What I loved was when I asked for a cup rice, they gave the complete sides and accompaniments instead of just rasam.
One plate meals, one small mutton biriyani, one cup rice, chicken coriander fry and mutton roast at INR 650. Definitely a good option if you are in the neighborhood.
