As per the locals and temple priests this temple was made by Pandavas (not sure). Avoid visiting in late evening as it is very far and inside the forest. It is recommended to go in group during non peak time.

This is a west facing ancient Shiva temple situated in the top of the hill near bank of Mahanadi river. This temple is dedicated to lord Shiva. The garbhagriha has a shiva lingam .The legend associated with the temple is that the Pandavas stayed at this place for a brief while during their agyatvas.It’s believed that Arjuna had set up the Shiv Linga and worshipped here. The small caves adjacent to the temple is said to be the place where Pandavas staying here during their agyantvas . As per local villagers this ancient temple was possible to build by eastern ganga dynasty, But it was latter reconstructed by local villagers and devoties. But architecture of old temple is still clearly visible. MahaShivaratri, Kartika purnima, makara Sankranti are the major festivals celebrated here. The temple has been declared state protected under the ancient monument preservation act 1956.
