St.Joseph's College is an English medium school in Kolkata. It is 10+2 school under ICSE system. It is located on B.B.Ganguly Street at Bowbazar area. The other entry to the school is from Jadunath Dey Road. It is well connected to road and it is also accessible through Metro railway service as both Central & Chandni Chowk Metro station are near to it.

St. Joseph's College - was one of the finest English Medium education institution (ICSE/ISC) at Calcutta administered by the Irish Catholic Brothers. Earlier (before 1994) Education, Discipline & Moral Values was the primary focus than sports or extra curriculum activities. The SJC on aid runs a poor covent school (St. George's School) adjacent to SJC campus. Though SJC boasts of adequate education infrastructure but lacks green grass playground (only RCC ground). The SJC at present may have faded it's glory of the past ... But we Hope it will Rise & Shine again

Passed out from this school in 1973 (Indian School Certificate, also known in those days as Senior Cambridge). Was an excellent school, as I remember. Br. Gaffney was a strict principal after Br. Finn. Incident: After the winter vacations, on the 1st day (and for some subsequent days), Br. Gaffney, would sit on a chair at the side entrance, watching the students come in. Once, I arrived on the 1st day and was asked to step aside, then I realised that the other students had their tie (summer the tie was optional). Br. Gaffney, was very cool, and asked me about my tie. I said, that I had forgotten, to which he replied, keep your satchel and go home and fetch your tie. I went back home (Cossipore Club estate) and returned with the tie after nearly an hour and a half. Went to the Principal's office, Br. Gaffney came out, looked at me and at his wrist watch, taking his time. 'You may go home now that you are late for class, come back tomorrow in uniform'.

Very poor school in terms of academics. Principals are worst. Students are taught and treated badly. Worst place for students as its a money minded institution. Parents should not send their child here. Neither academics nor extra-curricular activities are good.

I have an entire podcast talking about my feelings for this school but all I can say it taught me how to be a man. Here are some aesthetic pictures I took :) I had fun while I was there, not saying the best experience but it was alright. Teachers are awesome and my batch mates were great. The education is alright and the environment is sustainable to develop in.
