★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This branch of State Bank of India was opened mainly for Mandovi Pellets limited a large scale pellets manufacturing company in India in those days. Actually The factory and its administration office is located in shiroda village , In fact it is just touching the boundaries of Borim. The branch was to be opened in Shiromani where factory exists. Having the bank close to them was need of that time. There was no good place nearby to accommodate the branch in Shiroda panchayat area.Therefore this building close to factory in Borim was preferred and named as Borim=Shields Branch. At that time there was not a single branch of any bank. Hence it became the most needed bank of Nitin population.
