★ ★ ★ ★ ★ U can read any book in library premises for free. If u want to take the books to home, u have to take a membership with Rs.500 only. It is one of the best libraries in West Bengal started it's journey in 1956. As per Library Act of West Bengal it is the Apex library among all public libraries. Lots of facilities available here including free reading in air conditioned area, own book reading section, free WiFi etc. The process of rare books preservation and it's digitization is done and made available to users. Well supported staff made the library very much convenient to users. Newly lunched digital corner for providing free internet to users is immensely helpful to the needy people. The four floor building is fully decorated with books of all types (more than 2 lakh books)and of various languages. The library has much space for readers of newspaper, magazine, child book, competitive exam, etc. Probably it is the only public library in West Bengal where a Braille service for blinds started with the help of an NGO.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Right now this is a very rich and modern library. People of West Bengal should take this oppurtunity, specially the researcher community. They should be proud of this government run institution.

1. All washroom are in damaged or in no maintenance condition since above 1 year.****
2. There are wifi and digital corner but no internet and no computer from November 2021.
3. Water purifier has no maintenance. Drinking water is not in healthy condition.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very nice place to study and search for various kinds of books.... Just one request i would like to put that seats ar limited and obviously lower than it needs but still for an educational environment it's very good.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Huge collection of books . Nice place for studying. No membership fee required. Dor lending books they only charge 500 rupees for one time. You can bring tour own book and study over there. Only problem is no working wifi.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are many books, which is a must for any quality library. But, there is lack of professionalism on the part of a section of employees, and security staff, even a few readers approach the place lightly. Otherwise this library, under the ministry of mass education of the West Bengal government, would have been able to provide better service to many readers or researchers who are more purposeful in their visit to the library.
