Great food .. if you love sea food, then this is surely a place you must visit... We had prawn fry and surmai thali .. the taste was incredible and that too not heavy on pocket .... Also, the staff is very homely.....

Firstly, does not have good ambience Then service quality is very poor too slow Food quality is like 1/5 I ordered Bombil fry it was too fried was getting burned smell,then i asked to replace it then again it was the same The Surmai Thali is also over priced for what it offers and also too average quality of food. Kind of overpriced,overall not at all a good experience,Waste of Money.

Clean place. Best taste, fresh fish and adequate quantity. Unlike other fish serving places, the thickness of the fried fish is descent and size is very good.

Excellent surmai rava fry accompanied with a solkadi. Service was impeccable. Though a small restaurant with normal ambience, the food was top notch. I would recommend Surmay for anyone wanting to try Maharashtrian sea food. I just wished they had crab soup as well.

I had super cravings for sea food since past 2 days … so i wondered if i should be trying out a new place or should be visiting my favourite usual ones. So i thought of searching this new place that i came across near Karve Road , Garware college . Due to lockdown restrictions , there are lot of restaurants which are working in limited hours. So i had called and confirmed the time with the owner and finally with so much excitement i went to this place with a view to have amazing sea food. I had ordered 2 SURMAI THALI’s and had planned to order POMFRET FISH FRY. The thalis came and were served to us and the feedback too was taken up from us to know how the food was . As soon as i had the 1st bite of chapati with curry … i felt fine . With the 2nd and 3rd bite … along with the Surmai fish piece floating in the curry, i found that the fish was so hard and raw from inside. The fish was not cooked properly … i tried to tell the same to the person who was seated over the counter and looking after the place (owner) . He replied that may be the fish was over cooked or something else . He himself didn’t know the actual reason why the fish tasted so raw from inside … and i could not have a single bite anymore due to the raw smell. I really wonder how come people gave given such good ratings for this place …. But yeah , may be i had a hard luck today visiting this place in the lockdown … and thus the fish could be stale and not so fresh …. Thats why it was so hard . Don’t know … but they should not be serving such fishes to any of their customers i feel. I tried eating the SURMAI FISH RAWA FRY… it was also not so satisfying … through better than anything else served in the dish …. The fish pieces served were so huge …. And so under cooked …. It was not at all properly marinated … the fish didn’t have a good taste . It taste sour for sometime …. And sometimes it was just too salty . I would not recommend anyone to have any dishes here …. They really need to work upon their standards …. No matter if the place has weird ambience ….or if the places looks so shabby . Yet the food served will always give stars to the restaurant . And thats where they failed . What i could see from their service was , The restaurant is completely focusing upon the QUANTITY…. Where as they should be focusing on QUALITY . It was nothing but just so so so much food without any taste. The ambience was also not so great as such … and the thali rates have been increased as they have not mentioned or updated anything related to this anywhere … if they have written 370 for surmai on zomato …. And google …. If you visit them even though after reading my brief review …. Don’t forget they will charge you more than what is mentioned over online sites … Ambience - 1/5 Taste - 1/5 Value for money - 0/5 Recommendations for anyone - 0/5

Fish Thali (Surmai aka King Fish) was very good. Ambience is simple. Worth a visit for good Seafood.

#Surmay Karve Road This Stretch is filled with Restaurants serving all kind of food But if Want to taste excellent quality seafood then this is the Place to go. Whenever we have work in this part of Town it's Manditory to visit here. This time too we were served Delicious seafood Halwa Rava Fry, Surmai rava fry nice crisp shallow fried to perfection. Chicken Sagoti.. कोकणात गेल्यासारखं वाटलं.. Coconut based मस्त chicken curry. Kolambi biryani was tawa one flavourful and had ample amount of prawns.
