★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clean place and good homely maharashtrian food. We usually order the limited thali, alu vadi and sabudana vada. During Diwali season, you can buy Chirote which is a traditional maharashtrian, crispy and flaky sweet. It is kept on display in the waiting area and is so fresh and just beyond delicious!! Give it a try if you are in the neighbourhood.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A warm, cosy Maharashtrian eatery tucked away in the old neighbourhood of Naupada, Thane. It's a modest looking place, a bit old-style and that's what adds charm to it. The place is air-conditioned so no stress during summers too. Food is delicious with all the Maharashtrian favourites like Misal, Batata Vada, Thalipeeth, Kothmir Vadi etc on the menu. We had Misal, Thalipeeth and Sabudana Khichdi and they were all yum! Misal is not the usual, oily, spiced variety you usually get elsewhere. We got the matki one and it was tasty. Washed down with Piyush which was the perfect way to end the meal. They also have Thali options and Roti-Sabzi on the menu.
If you've had a slightly tiring/stressful/uninteresting day, head to Swad for a small meal. It will surely pep you up!
