β β β β β I'm happy to learn music here.
I have learned tabla , sitar , and harmonium&singing altogether for 2weeks.
Because I didn't have much time , I needed to practice a lot for myself.
It was very very intense.
Teachers are also very serious and passionate,they taught me about theory of Indian traditional music,how to do tuning, how to treat instruments,how to practice when I'm alone.
And I bought instruments thorough this school, it was proper price as well.
( I've been in India for more than 10 years,so I knew that)
Munna ji , he send those instruments for my next destination , it helped me a lot.
Specially I enjoyed conversation with them very much.It was like a small satsang. Yes,playing music is for God, it is meditation as well.
So I can recommend this school to people who want to learn music here.
Have a nice stay in Varanasi!

β β β β β I am visiting Varanasi quite frequently, as musicin i am interested in good teachers and mainly good quality music instruments. I recomend Taal Music School to everyone, very friendly place, thanx to Muuna i brought many perfect quality Sitars and tabla drums to Europe, USA and New Zealand in last few years. Ask Munna for anything, he knows the best music instruments makers, the best music teachers and he is great tabla player and teacher. Go for it! :-)

β β β β β I had a great sitar lesson with Baba Dee; we spent an hour going over the basic fundamentals and technique of sitar playing, and being a guitar player I believe I picked it up relatively quickly. However, I do think that absolute beginners could still make good progress in the time given.
I decided to purchase a sitar at a very reasonable price, which included a hard case. The owner of the music school even personally delivered the sitar to a hotel in Delhi (at an additional cost) so that I could pick it up before my flight back to the UK. This saved me having to lug the sitar around India on the rest of my trip!
Overall I could not fault the service received and would definitely recommend Taal Music School.

If you look for a Tabla class a Varanasi.
The first person to see is Munna at Taal music school.
He is a great teacher that makes you discouver the Tabla at ease.
It is a very sophisticated instruments with it's great culture.
I went back to India 3 times to learn with him.
He gives you confidence and knowledge.
You never feel bad in the learning process.
I recommend him warmely.

β β β β β Learning tabla here was the center point of my stay in Varanasi. Munna is a good friend now. He's a good teacher and expert on Indian culture. The school has a lovely relaxed atmosphere where people come, drink chai, jam and laugh together.

β β β β β I just dropped in at Taal Music school while walking through Bangalitola and ended up taking a djembe class. As it was very good I kept going during my stay in Varanasi. Munne is a great teacher, the place is very traditional and a great space to encounter the Varanasi music culture.

β β β β β I came across the school by chance last year and ended up staying in Varanasi for 2 months to learn tabla with Munnar. It was such a great experience that I am back for 2 months again to take tabla lesson with him. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He's the guy if you fancy having a go at this classical drum.

β β β β β To learn flute at Taal music shop with Kishore Ji was one of my best experience in Varanasi this season. I have learnt a lot and I have very good quality bamboo fluets now, my babies:)) There are many music shops in Varanasi but this place is kind of special - friendly atmosphere, nice people, very good teachers and good instruments. Also I want to say thanks to Munna ji for very interesting, intense and funny lessons of how to play on my new perfect mirdang. Thank you so much and see you next season!
