The view of the is so amazing that you will fall in love with that place....and that place is very quiet and calm. To enter in the temple you have wear off you leather belongings and put off them to a certain place at the temple and don't have to worry about those belongings because no one will harm it.

Must visit ...!!!!!!

Historical Context: The origin of this temple is traced back to 250 years when the Goddess Tara was brought to Himachal Pradesh from West Bengal. One fine day, the Maharaja had a vision of Tara along with Hanuman and he donated a huge piece of his land to build the temple. The temple consisted of a wooden idol of the deity, but after some years, the temple was shifted to the top of the hill known as Tara Parvat. The magnificent idol is was made of 'Ashtadhatu', a rare combination of 8 elements.Tara Devi temple is one of the most visited religious places in Shimla. It is installed at a height of 7200 feet above sea level and situated around 11 km away from Shimla city. The Walking lane towards temple was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal. There is a Shiv temple Shiv Bavdi nearby.Tara Goddess in Hinduism and Buddhism is second of the Ten Great Wisdoms called ‘Mahavidyas’ and is known to be a source of all energies. The word ‘Tara’ is derived from Sanskrit root ‘tr’, which means to cross. The word ‘tara’ also means star in many Indian languages.
