The inside ambience looks good. Found flies around and was surprised. The food is not upto the mark. The taste is bland. I don't say that this is authentic food of South India. Needs lot of improvement.

Visited Sankalp Restaurant for the first time today. We were mainly interested in eating a dosa. The place has many varieties of Dosas. I forget the exact count but I think there were about 12 odd varieties. Four of us ordered four different variety of Dosa. Rava dosa, Achari dosa, Military dosa and Onion dosa. For starters two of us had Rasam. Tasty but a Bit too spicy(hot) for me. Did nor try any other dishes this time. I had ordered Onion dosa. Onion and Rava dosas were closest in shape and taste to dosas served in any other restaurants. Only in onion dosa the difference was it was sprinkled inside and outside with Finley cut fried onions. Achari dosa, the way it was served and taste wise was totally different from dosas served in other restaurants I have eaten so far. Though a bit spicy, read HOT, It was good. The way of serving of Military dosa was similar to that of Achari dosa. Taste was good, almost similar to that of Achari dosa, except that it was less spicy. Next time will order Military Dosa. Salted Lassi and ice cream were good. Sweet thick lassi was good tasty and deliciously thick. Had nice lassi after a long time. Glasses and other serving utensils were of german silver. Old time Maharashtrian, 70+, know it as "Daval Bhandi'. different touch from other places. A notice and a bell seen while going out, near the door. Rang the bell vigirouly. A ice touch. Definitely calls for second visit.

Sankalp is a great place for vegetarian food - mainly South Indian food but their North Indian food is also very popular now. A great place for kitty parties, their special menu for group lunches is a very good spread. For a reasonable price per head, they give a good sampler menu consisting of: 1. Tomato soup or Rassam 2. Cocktail Idli 3. Masala Boondi 4. Sambar Vada 5. Masala Dosa (small serving) 6. Kara mura dosa 7. Fruit punch 8. Ice cream They end with a complimentary 'paan' with coconut filling. The serveware used is good quality China and metals as opposed to the usual plastic used everywhere. Ambience is ok. The place is small but cozy and comfortable.

Renamed as Tattwam originally Sankalp. Very authentic South Indian taste. Loved variety of chutneys . Offered Kiwi Lemon welcome drink and sweet paan at last. Improved ambiance, background music , polite staff. Enjoyed spring dosa, paneer dosa, butter masala dosa and sizzling brownie. I found sambar bit spicy and thick . I went to try 4 feet dosa but found bit pricey so not tried . Overall good experience, value for money. So give it a try.
