An amazing locality to live in. Although the main road has serious transportation problem that needs immediate improvement but the prantik housing is clam and a nice place for kids and retired people with well maintained parks and clean ponds and a mall where all the basic amenities are available at the doorstep.

I stay here since July 2001.It is very much in the heart of the Kolkata but you feel inside the complex as staying outskirts of the town. The beautiful calm and quiet place with full of greenaries to live in . You will feel the nature very closely.

The place has many amenities and 3 large water bodies. Views are excellent. Access is quite easy and is located on MG Road near Kalitala Mini Bus stand. While this area is large, the maintenance of the premises is extremely poor. The area has massive potential to be maintained beautifully and can be a landmark place for it's residents, but unfortunately it is not so. Also, there is no designated car park, and there is a challenge for any guests to park their cars inside. Further more, there is massive waterlogging that takes place during the better part of the monsoons and the whole place gets submerged underwater due to the "totaaal waatar" outflowing from the ponds within the area. However, there is some hope now as a pump has been installed near the Phase 1 gate with the sole intent to pump out the stagnant post-monsoon water. The drains are all open drains here which hardly get cleaned and you can see the muck, scum and algae everywhere. The whole housing complex was built with an idea to make it a mini township and has a nearby market complex as well - Prantikapan. However, that place is like a ghost town as there are hardly 5 or 6 shops that are running on borrowed breath. Also, the whole ground floor and the roads surrounding the market complex get submerged in water around monsoons and people are least bothered to make any improvements. All in all, a good place if you want some silence away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but with it it has lots of disadvantages. Furthermore, there is zero care and maintenance of the building structures. As of 2019, the boundary wall surrounding Pond 2 has collapsed into the water.
