On each school day, The Akshaya Patra Foundation serves freshly cooked wholesome lunch to 18,02,517 children from its kitchens situated in 51 kitchens across 13 states & 1 Union territory of India. These kitchens prepare 20,000 to 1 lakh meals per day. For such large-scale operations, Akshaya Patra has equipped itself with automatic or semi-automatic machines and food packing vessels. These machines and vessels need to be upgraded or procured newly at regular intervals for optimum efficiency, on-time completion of cooking process, increase production capacity, and to ensure food safety and hygiene.
