★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an old and very reputed club of Calcutta. And pretty exclusive too! Most of the well known public figures of the seventies and eighties are members here and on the big days you will bump on to a celebrity or two.
The property is well maintained. They have taken care to protect the old world look and feel of the club. They are conservative and expect you to be smartly dressed. One can't saunter in, in chappals etc
Allegedly this was the place where "Dogs and Indians were not allowed" pre-independence.
The food preparation is outstanding and the service is great. They are concerned with the guests satisfaction and they go the extra mile to make you happy.
Visited as a guest so can't really comment on the prices. But can guess that this is not a cheap place.
The facilities available here are great and this is the complete club.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Quite a decent club.Ambience is top notch and the dining set up in endearing to eyes.Ordered chicken asparagus soup with fish fry and some chicken curry served with rice in a continental style. Taste wise it's good and Overall experience is quite decent!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place relives the old world charm mostly attributed to the British Raj ...... gigantic photographs of persons & landscapes, the lampshades of bygone era and the attired staff serving you marvellous continental food followed by souffle as dessert. The well laid out cutlery on the table make you resist from serving yourself or eating in a hurry coz you're to maintain the protocol. Perhaps, you get a feeling of a 'hush all over the world'! Bengal Club takes you down memory lane back to school, when you're taught to always remain a 'gentleman' in such a surrounding. Thank you Mr. Hicks for bringing out the best in such circumstances when required .....

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place with smells of history, where "DOGS and INDIANS were NOT ALLOWED during British regime. Some 4-5 years back, had very tasty food here, at an official gathering. But this time The Bengal Club failed to satisfy my expectations, at least, on this count. The place was nice, otherwise. The rooms were large and spacious, the staff were very courteous and appropriately dressed.
