Ramgarh was one of the independent states of The Punjab ruled by Chandel Rajput’s, whose original seat of power was in Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh and their might still echoes throughout the Central India as they ruled in the medieval period before the arrival of Prithviraj Chauhan. Ancestors of the Ramgarh family migrated from there to Punjab about 1,300 years ago, and established the state of Kot Kahloor. The capital was eventually shifted to Bilaspur but one branch of the Raja of Bilaspur’s dynasty migrated to Ramgarh nearly 360 years ago and built the foundation of Ramgarh. Although, it’s power marked another cornerstone and it became one of the only three States from Raipur and Kotaha to emerge intact when chaos reigned the entire region in the 1760s. It travelled it’s own journey before it established its independence. It passed down from Sikh suzerainty, to Sirmour, Himachal Pradesh in 1750, and then it renounced Sirmour’s allegiance in 1804 marking its independency. One might wonder, that a fort built centuries ago stands, still. Then the truth is the passage of time have taken their toll on the fort, still instead of abandoning it, the family had continued to live there, and converted it into a hotel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is a very old fort which gives us the experience of monarchy. Here now you can book it for marriage and janmdin party. It has very good facilities inside. There is also car parking. Also you can get street food here.
There is also a car washing center here.

Lunch in the lawn under the winter sun was superb.
Vegetarian food spread was excellent.
Staff was more than cooperative.
The durbar Hall for our family skit was the icing on the cake.
Memorable experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a really good place for weddings. I had my wedding here 2 years ago and Mr. Rajiv Chalana helped us throughout the event. All the arrangements were done as per our requirements and we had no complaints. Food was really good, guests also complimented us about the same. The rooms, particularly on the right side, have a royal feel, with windows overlooking the garden, where weddings take place, guests can watch wedding from rooms too.
Overall it was a great experience and the staff made efforts to make everything perfect.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is just waste of money. They are more focused as banquet palace. They don't know hospitality means. No proper lighting and switches qualities are bad in rooms. Bed is on hard side. THEY ARE PRACTICING UNETHICAL TAX ON PACKED WATER BOTTLES. Rooms floor was not properly clean and dust was there. Overall I don't recommend the place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great site! We went for a wedding ceremony. The decor was very well done and the food was simply outstanding. Good entree of starters and well thought out delicacies for main course. The dessert was unfortunately below average. But nonetheless, a good experience overall.
