IIPM is a private academically independent, self-financed and autonomous not for profit society registered under the societies act of 1960. The institute is neither affiliated to any university nor has sought de-jure recognition for its academic programmes from any statutory body. The institute is known for designing unique certificate programmes in Planning and Entrepreneurship. The placements IIPM certified students get, the kind of research works it does and its best-selling books that the people love is the tremendous market recognition that IIPM is proud of. Students who are concerned about statutory recognition need not apply for the programme. Students must categorically know that IIPMdoes not teach MBA or BBA programmes (nor does it give any degrees or has given any degrees ever since inception) though IIPM is often ranked in B-School rankings. IIPM is proud of its ranking though it does not participate in any ranking. These rankings are mostly perception based. IIPM teaches its own programmes in entrepreneurship and is an institution for entrepreneurial excellence. Since 2015 IIPM does not impart any programme of its own. IIPM is only engaged in various research initiatives. Planman Consulting has the rights to impart a programme that has been developed by the faculty members of IIPM. IIPM however certifies this programme that Planman imparts. Planman therefore currently holds all the rights to use the IIPM trademark and name for its various initiatives. IIPM has not granted these rights to any other organisation / institutions.

The Hon'ble High court of Delhi observed that IIPM had published certain admission notifications on its website, in spite of the consent order that it wouldn't do so. We wish to state it is based on purely the content produced by the petitioner, of some other website and Hon'ble court had asked us to post an apology to that effect. We wish to inform public at large again that the official website of IIPM is www.iipm.edu. Only pages connect to www.iipm.edu should be considered our official information. However, we still apologize if anyone came under the impression that IIPM offers MBA/BBA during the period of our consent to the court. Further, we can assure that none of our existing students admitted during the period of consent had any such confusion that they will get MBA/BBA degree from IIPM.
