It is highly overrated. Very few shops that too not all are chinese. There is no meaning of an Indian selling chinese dishes. Still you can get slight experience of chinese dishes. Don't expect any vegetarian item in the menu. You will find chicken, pork, red meat, fish, prawns. Rates are also high for less quantity.

Originally this market is named after Edward Tiretta an Italian immigrant from Venice who owned this place in 18th century. Alternatively it is called as old China market because the place has a long history with a vibrant Chinese community. Once this place could boast of nearly 20,000 Indian Chinese population, though presently it has come down to less than 2000. This place still has authentic Chinese cuisine restaurants. Even one can find home made Chinese food in the early morning everyday except Mondays.

The place is good for open marketing for electronics goods. You can get a good collection of lights, bulbs, and so many things to decorate your house or apartment. Most of the goods are Chinese though and I don't recommend such things which is Chinese and do not carry any warranty. If your place is not nearby, and if anything happens, then they will not entertain or replace your products.

If you are looking for early morning tibetian food, this is the place for you. Food is super fresh and super cheap. However ambience is dirty, food is not very hygenic, surrounding is dirty. But as a first time experience it's decent. Must try Red Meat Bun, Chinese Bread, Momos.

There are only few stalls that offer the most demanded Chinese food. But the stall owners are surprisingly not Chinese. Most interesting, kebabs are also getting sold during the breakfast time. Good experience.... but expectation was more.
