β β β β β Lord Sri Venkateswara, also known as Srinivasa, Balaji, and VeαΉ
kaαΉachalapati, made Tirumala his abode five thousand years ago. Even before him, it was Lord Varahaswami who had made Tirumala his abode. Since then, many devotees have continued to construct grand entrances on the ramparts of the temple over generations. The temple complex is spread over 16.2 acres of land.
The height of the main entrance has been increased periodically since 13th century. Its present height is fifty feet. This entrance has other names such as βPadivaakiliβ and βSimhadwaramβ.In Tamil it is called βPeriya Thiruvasalβ. On either side of this main entrance there are two feet high statues made of alloy metal (Pancha loha). They are Sankanidhi and Padmanidhi who are the guardians of βNavanidhiβ, the treasure of Lord Sri Venkateswara.
The Maha Dwaram comprises three consecutive entrances β the first is a brass one, while the second is a silver one. The third entrance is a golden one.

β β β β β The office is permanently closed . The security doesn't even allow you to enter the office . He mentioned that the booking for darshan and room accomodation has been permanently closed since last one and half year . One have to book through online portal which is by the always full or else you have directly get the tickets in Tirumala itself . Please don't waste your time and energy travelling all the way to this office the way I did.

I suggest if Darshan is allowed round the clock, rush will be less and people will get chance to go close to god

It's feel like Tirupati Temple. But Enquiry off closes from last year. Now all processing is Online.

Lord Venkateswaras idol is exceptional It gives a good telugu vaari veedhi feeling.
Calendar and TTD publications are available. Fortunate to get Laddu on occasions which is tasty and reminded me of tirupathi. Thank you TTD
