Hindu religion is divided and subdivided into various different beliefs, Gods, Goddesses, temples, ways of worshipping etc. Majority of Hindus believe that sun, moon, stars, earth, sand, mountains, rivers, oceans, elephants, monkeys, cows, mice, snakes, plants, above average humans... are Gods.
Although the faiths are completely different from each other, they all claim to be Hindus, belonging to Hindu religion!
All over India, there are millions of big and small temples of innumerable Gods and Goddesses. More than two million notable Hindu temples were recorded during 2001 sensus.
To cater to the needs of people of different faiths and attract more people, many temples keep idols and statues of several Gods and Goddesses.
I was amazed to see the cleanliness of the temple and its premises. The whole complex was spotlessly clean. To maintain such level of cleanliness is a huge and difficult task in India.
