The consultant walks into the room. Self-conscious and looking sharp in his suit he conquersthe centre of the lecture. It is obvious that he has done this before. He doesn’t only seemready; he radiates an aura of always readiness. The image of a management hero passes mymembrane by the sight of his appearance. Highly profiled consultants are constantly on themove, both physically and mentally, always ready to jump in and do what they do best; work.They are working machines coping with new input, inconstant conditions and occupationalstress at the same time and in the same body. In front of me I have the image of a personembodying both admiration and pity. What did he have to sacrifice to get where he is nowand what gain did that los involve? This particular consultant however doesn’t seem to havelost anything. His head raised high, arms in deliberate gestures he reveals a man in perfect balance. Out of a sudden my academic arrogance as a philosophical business student shrinksremarkably. It’s a striking feeling of being inferior to someone. The consultant’saccomplishments and his eloquent promotion of his work appear to be in perfect harmonywith the human I perceive in front of me. Communicated through his agency I feel tempted to put aside my left-wing hatred of the capital system and let my self get lulled away by theimagination of the money he must earn and the possibilities his career must open. I decide tostay strong and prepare a set of questions. I set out to find a crack in the fantasy that gotviolently projected onto myself this Tuesday noon. The following essay is about theencounter with a successful consultant from one of the biggest consultation firms and thestrain of thoughts this meeting provoked in my understanding of work and being.To engage a discussion evolving around work and being is a delicate matter. It’s not a matter of certainty or final conclusions but rather an out fleshing of a movement back and forth between what I perceive as different poles. The theory that I intend to deploy during thisessay will lean against the empirical and the empirical will tend to its theoretical counterpart.Only by doing this I will be able to extrapolate the questions I find necessary to be asked. Themeeting with the consultant (hence force referred to only as The Consultant ) will make theempirical base that in addition with theoretical outlines and questions will mould the body of the essay. By doing this I won’t use a question as point of departure but rather a concern, anda quite personal one at that. As sketched out in the introduction to this essay I felt inferior inthe encounter with the consultant whom I at the same time admired and pitied.

Please don't waste your money, they will not call you after taking 500 rupees registration fee and they will tell that you have to call them everytime. (Atleast other consultancies calls you back everytime after taking registration fee and notifies you about the vacancy.) And one important thing is that there in no proper communication between consultancy and company, both tells different info about the job(like job profile and payment). And you have to clear the interview to get a job, then why we pay for registration fee + half payment??
