From 2003 Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering started. Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering were introduced in 2008. The nearest airport is at Kolkata about one and a half hours' drive through NH2. Burdwan is well connected through rail and road with the rest of India. The intake is 360 students for undergraduate courses annually. UIT is approved by the Government of West Bengal and the All India Council for Technical Education. It was established in the year 1999 as a department of The University of Burdwan which represented the former engineering faculty of Regional Engineering College (R.E.C.), Durgapur (now, N.I.T. It offers postgraduate courses (Master of Engineering - M. Eng.)in two branches of engineering: Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering Computer Science Engineering Annual intake is 360 students through WBJEE for B.Eng. and GATE score is considered for admission into its M.Eng. course.

This is a good college but administration here is very poor ,it won't help you to do external activity or internships because you won't expect holidays from college. You will find good and struggling people for the entire 4 year basically the last year. Few teachers are too good but few are worst, they show you that they are good even you ask questions to them they feel insult and scold you unnecessarily but few teachers they will guide you the best. Coming to hostel life its awesome you never feel alone or away from home.

College has a nice infrastructure and surely have a lot of scope for future enhancement such as a playground, basketball court and something like this. Talking about the college life its awesome mostly the hostel life. according to me some aspects where this college requires a lot of improvements are: *more of placement , it is good here but chances of improvement is always there.

It is the only Govt. engineering college affiliated to AICTE , NBA AND UGC in the entire purba Burdwan district. Very good Atmosphere Huge area...stuffs are also good .. For more details like academics and so on contact with me..????

I'm a 2021 pass-out from this great college where I spent my best times and the greenery always melted my heart. Teachers are good but you should try to learn on your own too. My branch was Electrical and the labs were really good. I was a hosteller and the best part was hostel life. Girls' hostel followed a strict timeline for gate closure @7pm and @6pm during winter. Love this place from the core of my heart. I'm sure you'll too.
