Kodandarama Swamy temple of Vontimitta (also Ontimitta) is a large Vijayanagara style Hindu temple. It is dedicated to the Rama avatar of Vishnu. Kodandarama means "Rama with the celestial bow". The temple's gopura is impressive, as are the miniature carvings of Hindu arts, the Ramayana panels and the secular scenes of life, yoga, festivals (Ramanavami and other Vaishnava-theme festivals). The scale of architecture, the hilly scenery, the temple tank and the polite rural pilgrims dressed colorfully impresses the casual visitor, while the iconography, mandapa and architectural sophistication impresses the scholarly types.
A unique and rare feature of this Rama temple is that his devotee Hanuman is not prominently featured within the complex, unlike other Rama temples. Hanuman reveres from a far distance, outside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Built in 13th century, a very old temple of kodanda ramaswamy. Prabhu Sri Rama, Sita mata and Sri Lakshamana all idols have carved in single stone. One can easy reach temple by Road. It's around 30km from Kadapa. Public toilet available. Visit during Rama Navami special navaratri seve can be witnessed

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A very ancient temple in indian history. The difference in this lord sree rama's temple unlike other Sree rama temples, there is no hanuman temple here. Only Sree Rama, Sree Sita maata and Sree lakshman murthis will be there which are very beautiful. This temple was built by Jambavat before Rama met hanuman.Also in Bhadrachalam, kalyanam will be celebrated on sree rama NAVAMI day afternoon. But in Vontimitta kalyanam will be celebrated on PURNAMI day NIGHT time
Reason is As per puranas, sree maha vishnus, Lakshmi devis marriage is done on day time. So lord Chandra felt upset as henis not able to see it. So sree maha Vishnu promises him that Chandra's desire to see lord vishu and maata lakshmis marriage will be fulfilled in Rama avatar .. so in Ontimitta on Pournami night in open area rama kalyanam will be celebrated so that moon can directly see sree rama kalyanam

There were some procession and celebration conducted on 17th April. A must visit place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Kodandarama temple is dedicated to Lord Rama located in Vontimitta. The temple built in Vijayanagara architectural style will start to amaze you. It is located at a distance of 25 km from Kadapa. This temple doesn't have a single state of Hanuman unlike most of the Rama's temples.
Nearby lies a beautiful lake surrounded by lush green hills. if you're lucky enough you might get a boat ride because most of the time this lake is filled with vegetation
This temple is well maintained, clean and tidy!
There's a small place beside this temple that provides free food(Annadaanam) to people who visit this temple.
If at all you happen to visit Tirupati via Kadapa I'm sure you wouldn't miss this beautiful piece of architecture.
Post bifurcation of the Telugu states, the Sriram Navami utsavalu are being held here by the Andhra Pradesh Government which were earlier held at Bhadrachalam which now lies in Telangana.

It is in andhrapradesh state improve train facility only one train is available arrange more trains to travel and visit there and bus facility has also improve arrange more buses to travel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Huge place. It hasn't been extremely commercialized yet. There are a few food trucks outsite that have tiffins. The temple has been developed exceptionally. There are well maintained gardens all around the temple.
Its a 11th century temple, evident by the beautiful architecture. It in the outskirts of Kadapa and the roads to and from the temple are well maintained.
