★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Municipal wastewater treatment & Sewage Treatment Plant is a need of every metropolitan city by considering the present scenario of water scarcity in the world. At Bhandewadi in Nagpur 130MLD capacity sewage treatment plant is started. Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) and MAHAGENCO awarded the BOT for 10 years to SMS Envocare. Plant operation started in March 2016. The basic necessity of this facility is to reuse the treated water from the STP for Mahagencos (3x660 MW) Power Plant for cooling and ash handling. The excess treated water produced after fulfilling the requirement of Mahagenco shall disposed off to Nag River again to minimize water pollution level in Nag River. Latest Technology is used at STP Bhandewadi for digestion of generated sludge from Sewage Treatment and the plan is to use the generated gas from sludge digestion as fuel in local MSRTC buses.
