One of the best South Indian Restaurant in Baner. Its easily approachable from Highway. Quickest service on planet earth!!!! Trust me, I have never seen the service so blitz fast ever. All the food items are tasty and made from quality ingredients which justify rates. Breakfast Combos available. Seating space is enough for about 50 people. Enough parking space for 2 wheelers, but cars needs to be parked on road. Highly recommended.

Had been to baner for work and happened to go this place with my friend and my niece. The place is easy to spot as on the main road. We reached around 3.30-4.00. The interiors are impressive and clean. The walls have shade of cream and complemented with orange as visible in pics. The master wall houses numerous masks which are pretty eye catchy. The mask are copies derived from different cultures across the globe. This is on the ground floor seating. There is an upper floor, which can be accessed via steps. It wasn't crowded as post lunch time. We ordered for mendu wada, idili sambhar, mini idli for our princess and sabudana khichadi. I was busy clicking pics so haad no idea what was ordered till it hit the table. Mendu wada sambhar, idli sambhar, mini idlis & masala dosa all where served at one go. The clean table had now become a food chaos instantly. The guy serving us didnt ask in what preference we needed our servings... The wadas where crisp albeit a little on the cooler side. Sambhar was warm. The idlis where not warm. Same story with baby idilis. The size of the wadas & idlis are enough to fill your stomach. So by the time we finished our idli sambhar n wada sambhar, the masala dosa went cold... So pretty good dishes went bad cos they where served pretty hastily. The taste of the food is nice could have been great if served warm. Last on the list was a soft drink for our lil princess and kokam soda for me. Soft drink handed straight with the glass bottle not in glass... I prefer all eateries to serve liquids in paper or plastic glasses, esp for kids. A slip of the glass bottle from the hand is disaster for the guests as well as others. My kokam soda was a story of good taste with bad presentation. Kokam sharbat mixed with soda, topped with rock salt. The rock salt was so generously sprinkled that it was every where in the sharbat as well as the out sides of the juice glass. I could nicely scrape the sides of the glass to mine the fine salt ... There was a paper straw provided to sip in and that's a good eco friendly approach. Lastly the bill for the diet consumed ... Neat 500/- inr. To sum the experience ... Really nice place, good food, value for money. Family oriented and pleasing decor. Spoilt by the table service issues... Noteworthy, the staff wears masks, and the place is clean. Give it a try, though I expect that I rush hours you may have to wait for loner periods to get a place to sit n further more for dine, as it's in a commercial area. That's all for now.Till we meet again , take care. God bless you n enjoy the journey called life. ??

ok to be very frank the only reason why people are promoting this place is because it is cheap point to be noted : being in Bengaluru for more than 5years I m sure aware of how authentic food taste like They do are good here but yes in order to target those crowd who are price sensitive this is the best place I prefer food over taste and then over money Filter coffee is not that great, The only they got amazing is their rava dosa, masala is very simple no taste at all, when it comes down to chatni the tomato chutney they got is just awesome 100% south, however the coconut chutni is a big compromise, very liquid Sambar is not good either Idli was soft but it was old, and not fresh, for hygiene - they need to really clean their washroom that's the most necessary thing, it short saste main mast ?

During our recent business trip to Pune, after a long working day, we’re in a mood for something light South Indian food for dinner. . And our search ended here, at Way Down South, one of the oldest restaurant; serving authentic South Indian food, located at Baner-Orchid road, Pune. . Place is clean and hygienic, with with mask themed interior. Staff is friendly, service is quick and food is praise worthy both quality and quantity wise. . Now about the food we enjoyed; . *Masala Uthappa . *Rava Onion Dosa . *Idli Sambar . *everything was served with Sambar, Tomato Chutney and Coconut Chutney, which you can ask for second serving too!

Rare south Indian restaurant in Baner that serves authentic south indian cuisine. The have plenty of varieties in Dosa and Rice items. To top it all is the Davangere Benne Dosa which is simple fab. One must not miss it. Not too spicy, not to much masala, just perfect taste. The place is well lit and the interiors are cool. Service is good, but could be a bit faster. Prices are not that high. Parking is only an issue here as entire Baner is a no parking area. It would have worked wonders for them had the place been a bit bigger. To sum up, a real good place to try out some south Indian stuff, you wont regret..

Cosy little South Indian restaurant for a quick bite. Was full on our visit and had to wait for around 5 min to get a seat. Try special dosa Ada dosa, Pesarattu, Davangere, Podi benne and Neeruappam, etc. Sambar was little sweet than my taste but overall great experience. Other visit summary: super fluffy idlies, crispy Vada, little soggy Mysore masala. Surprisingly, North Indian thali was tastier than South Indian one :-( Parking for few cars on road side.
