★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As an ex student of this college here is my honest review.
As the name suggest it is an old and popular college, located near Sealdah railway station. The college has decent infrastructure. Canteen, community hall, gym, library, auditorium etc. Though renovation works were still going on. Everything was fine except its faculty. I studied English honours and I was really disappointed when I found professors were too unprofessional in their duty. They never came for classes, except few assistant professors(that only during 1st year). Our HOD's behaviour towards students was pathetic. She took hardly one or two classes during the initial years but was very disrespectful and full of contempt towards students(specially with not so well off backgrounds). Other professors I met were atleast good human beings, if not good professors. I think students have every right to expect good education from their college and these unprofessionalism and negligence from the faculty's part is hurting students interest. I have done my graduation but for the sake of future students I would really like the management to take a note of it and appropriate it.

Kolkata has many good colleges.. But College like Bangabasi not only good but also great college from century.. Best teachers, study material, nice surroundings and beautiful culture make it a good government college under CU in Kolkata..Calcutta university .. Arts, Science, commerce and various others courses are included.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Useless & hopeless staff with no manners at all.....Building is good & maintained properly (maybe it's maintained by day section).
No one knows nothing. College website is outdated, they only update a few times a year. Classes are not held by most of the teachers. No proper notices are there on the notice boards. Overall it's a bad and third class college.
