β β β β β Nice place with plenty of greenery around. You can spend time viewing serene view. View of the Great Banyan tree is awesome. However, maintenance of the park is not satisfactory. Sitting chairs are broken. Water bodies have not been cleaned. Parking is available near the gate noo.2, but charge is on higher side. You have to pay Rs.50/- for car parking irrespective of timing.

β β β β β A must-visit destination for botanists and plants enthusiasts. I visited before I left India - though some of the facilities were closed then but the species of trees which were available to be viewed even after that, were fascinating. Could see and learn from a variety of species here (especially the Great Banyan Tree), clicked nice photos as well as played a bit of chess in silence.
I have seen people take their bicycles to tour the place too but I am not sure if it is allowed.

β β β β β A beautiful and huge garden. It has the Asia's oldest banyan tree. The breath of the tree is enormous. The garden is maintained by the government. There are entry tickets.
The guards create a problem if you go for pre wedding or couple shoots. One can carry cameras for clicking nature only. There are fees for cameras. No video shooting allowed.

β β β β β It is a very big botanical garden with a big baniyan tree. It is special attraction here but it has lots of different species of plants. Now it is closed from January 2022 for covid 19 infection.

β β β β β Before deciding to go to this garden on a family outing (a small family of three - my wife, kid and I), I read some reviews which were not positive about the place. Reviews said that the place was a waste of time and, being very far from the city, not worth spending time there.
Still, I took a chance and went over. And it turned out to be one of the most cherishing moments with my family. Both my wife and child enjoyed the serenity, greenery, the rare plants, trees and, oh not to forget the lotuses and Water Lillies.
The garden has dedicated a portion of flaura from each state in India. Although we can't go near the main trunk of the world's biggest banyan tree, as it is protected with fence, we can still view its branches from very near and click pics. One part of the garden opens to the Hoogli river, which is a refreshing sight to behold. At end of our whole noon-to-evening walk around the garden-cum-park, instead of feeling tired, we were more fresh than we entered - the difference was thanks to the lovely plants and trees.
Only regret (reason for 4-star, instead of 5-star): They have a kitchen garden near the staff quarters, with a big variety of vegetables in all unimaginable sizes. But, this is not maintained well.
We also had difficulty in finding a clean washroom with running water, but I don't think that's the case with all the toilets within the park. So, that's ok.
Now for some information for those who are planning to visit the place:
1. Don't visit the park if you don't have at least 3 hours in hand.
2. The ticket costs just Rs.10, which seems like a mere formality. This is for Indians. I guess it is Rs.100 for foreigners.
3. You need to pay for cameras, but mobile camera is not counted and is free to carry.
4. They will not allow you to carry plastic covers inside, such as polythene covers or that of Lays/Kurkure. You can take these chips inside, however, by going to the shop just outside the entrance, where the shop people will pack chips for you in a newspaper for a cost of Rs.3 ? (I am talking about April 2022).
5. Visitors are allowed only until 5.00pm. After this, it is reserved for people who come from the locality for evening walk.

β β β β β A huge natural place in Howrah. You can breathe the fresh air and go for long walks to explore the garden. The garden has many huge waterbodies inside, and seating spaces near them. The Great Banyan tree and The great water Lily are the prime attractions.

β β β β β Nice & quite place. But lot of distance to walk, avoid with small and aged people.
Govt must provide polo carts and guides for better understanding of the plants & species.
Tip: if you are more interested to have a look at the banyan tree, use the gate number 2. From gate 1, the distance is too much.

β β β β β It's the paradise for tree lovers. Different rare species of trees are right here. This place is very Idea for students who wants to know more about plants.
This is also a great place for family gathering and outing. It's a huge place so you need time in your hands.
But this place needs much more care and cleaning.
Overall this is my one of favourite places for winter outing.
