Agrabah is a very unique restaurant in Pune as they serve authentic Bohri Cuisine. We had never tried Bohri food before and hence we were excited to try it out! The interior is beautifully done up, and it has an Arabian Nights charm to it. We loved the outdoor seating, it was very pretty❤️ They serve a traditional Bohri thaal wherein many people can share a number of dishes from a single large thali- perfect for families or a group of friends! The thaal contained the following dishes: The meal begins with Namak- where the youngest member of the Bohri family serves all the members salt. According to traditions, you have to eat one namkeen (Savoury) dish and one sweet dish, alternatively. Phirni- 5/5 This was one of the best dishes in the thaal. It had the perfect texture and just the right amount of sweetness. Mutton Raan- 5/5 This mutton was to die for! It was tender and succulent, and had a nice tangy flavor to it. It was a fun experience to break the chunks of meat and eat it with our hands. Russian Cutlet and Patty samosa cutlet- 4/5 They were meaty and crunchy and made for a perfect non-veg starter! Loved it! Meatball gravy with roti- 4/5 This was the only gravy dish served in the thaal. The meatballs were juicy and had a slight crunch to them, which we loved. The soft rotis complimented the gravy perfectly. Mutton and chicken biryani- 4/5 Flavourful and had a beautiful aroma! Even though we were stuffed from eating all the other dishes, we couldn't resist ourselves from eating this! Very yummy? Ice cream -4/5 They serve 6 scoops of different flavours ice cream, which was very soothing after this heavy meal, especially as it is Summer season! We had a great time at Agrabah, especially learning about Bohri culture and trying their food. It was a truly enjoyable experience and we would recommend it to all meat lovers in Pune! Do visit Agrabah soon!❤️

#LongPostAlert #ReadTillEnd Note: The non veg food experience is from my husband's feedback. You must have tried N number of different and speciality Thaalis, but I am sure nothing like this one. In frame is a huge Bohri Thaal which has, Namak, Sodanu, Malida, Phirni, Raan, Dabba Gosh, Meatballs gravy, Roti, Russian cutlet chicken, Shami Kabab mutton, Biryani mutton and Chicken, Patti Samosa mutton and Patti Samosa veg. At @agrabahpune you get to experience this thaal and through it the rich #Bohri #Culture The owner would lovingly explain every bit of it to you and #Trust me, a non veg lover is missing out on a lot till the trial of this #Thaal This place serves amazing veg food too, breaking the myth of non veg places not serving good veg food. For starters we opted, paneer, baby corn and mushroom tikkas. Paneer and babycorns were simply amazing. We had one paneer gravy, one kofta gravy, tandoor rotis and roomali rotis for mains. Lastly, Rajbhog ice cream for dessets. It was a complete show stealer. Do not return from this place without having Rajbhog ice cream. Follow @food_bhari_zindagi on Instagram.

The place is visible on the road with a big board Agrabah near to the NIBM chowk!! It is a Bohri restaurant. The ambience has a lot of things in it there is a traditional style Bohri seating plus a normal style open view seating including a party section its entirely out in the open. The food is excellent !!! I had a few dishes from the menu cheese balls with corn as starters Methi Chaman veg as main course Dum ka murg as non veg main course Butter roti Butter naan Steamed rice Everything from the beginning was excellent including the service. The ambience does make sense. I will recommend everyone to visit this place and enjoy all the services especially the food.

It is a ok place. The buffet was ok. Starters were good however main course and desserts were not great. Rice was also geera rice or plain rice and no Biryani. Ambiance was ok, service was not upto the mark. You have to wait inbetween the food. Play area was only for small kids below 4 years. Wallet parking available.

This isn't a place, it's an experience which one can carry and indulge by coming here again and again. This restaurant will enrich you with a tradition of bhori community. So to start with we had opted for a thal. This thal starts from sweets and ends with sweets. Trust me It's a mind blowing journey of food which has RAAN as well. Key highlights in The thal are dabba ghost, mutton balls in gravy, chicken pattice and that amazing firni. Apart for these there are other things to enjoy as well. It's a complete must be place. This restaurant also servers amazing veg items. The paneer here was classy. Coming to the ambience, it's an open air place were nicely decorated and very well maintained. The owner is a superb guy who's always seen in action and interacts with his customers personally. 5/5 from me for all the aspects.

Colorful seating arrangements makes you feel nostalgic of the Arabian Nights tales as soon as you enter the place. Agrabah mainly offers Bohri food, but also has some north-Indian specialites for vegetarians like me. We met the owner Adnan and he explained us about Bohri culture and especially about the traditional Bohri meal. It is a very unique style and worth experiencing is you love food and want to know about different cusines. Food is served in a ‘BIG THAAL’ – normally 6 people can have from one THAAL. The way the meal starts and way it fares is very interesting. I knew very little about it as I have a very close friend who is Bohri and so when I came across this place I decided to visit. So meal starts with a pinch of salt which should be kept in the middle of thaal. Youngest member picks it up and offers to everyone who is having meal from thaal and then it is kept aside. Then you offer prayers and then starts the actual meal – Mithas -Kharas – Mithas- Kharas (Sweet-Namkeen-Sweet-Namkeen) and then lots of food that is there in the thaal is kept in the middle one-by-one and then everyone has that one thing that is kept in middle of the thaal – so everyone has the same thing (dish) at a time – interesting isn’t it. Adnan mentioned everyone having the same thing at a time symbolizes that everyone is equal. I had just the desserts from the thaal as it is mostly made up of lot of non-veg dishes. My friends who had the thaal were gaga about about all dishes. I tried Paneer Tikka and Vegetable Kofta – both had distinct taste. Mushroom and Paneer starters were really good too. Malida made out of atta and goond is super tasty and a must try. Phirni is served at perfect temperature. It is an ideal place for those who: Love non-vegetarian food Like to explore different cuisines

I got a chance to visit Agrabah and taste the Bohri Thaal, thanks to a meet organized there. The décor here reminds you of Alladin. The huge tent with curtains, bright cushions, chandeliers, low seating takes you to another world. The Bohri’s have a concept of eating together from a huge thaal. The seating has been designed in such a manner that 6-7 people can sit together around a thaal. The entire system of eating the thaal was quite interesting. We started with washing our hands with warm water from a copper surai at the table itself. Next we started the meal with a pinch of salt (kharas). This was followed by malida and phirni. The malida was oozing with ghee and dry fruits. The phirni had a thick custard like consistency. Both were good. The Russian kebabs were wow. But it was the Raan – e-sikandari that stole the show. The meat was soft and melting in the mouth. What a burst of flavours. You have to eat this with your hands to relish the experience. After eating so much there was hardly any space for the chicken biryani. I just had a spoonful and it was yum. The tandoori mushrooms from my neighbours platter was good too. Overall had a memorable experience. Btw they have a playzone and outdoor seating too.

We had visited the place for a anniversary function The food served included 3 starters (2 chicken, 1 veg) Both the chicken and paneer gravy were good But the star was the chicken seek biryani... just loved the taste. Our second visit to this place was with a bunch of friends so we decide to try the Chicken Bohri thaal It started with hand washing with the warm water. The food was served on a large plate, starting with salt and sweets including malida, dudhi halwa. The starters included green chicken and Russian cutlet (really very crunchy) We also had Kashmiri chicken gravy with roti followed by Chicken biryani. The thaal consist of unlimited food. The staff is very courteous and quick The only complaint is that the chicken is not completely cooked . . . For more updates follow @khaanawithsana . . #khaanawithsana #likeformore #followformore
