Aiims delhi is a reputed hospital and medical college of india. But it is overcrowded and I think government also donot care about it.Although I have gone to aiims for many times and mostly for eye checkup. Its infrastructure is good not best. Some of its bulidings are very good and some looks like old. For eg. Infrastructure cancer centre is very good whereas when I went to rp eye centre it seems as the walls and other things are not maintained since a long period. Paint of wall are broken. Condition of washroom is not good, although it was not too much dirty but it lack conveniences. There is deficiency of staffs. As doctor have to call the patients. No staff given.Overall infrastructure is average. Now come to medical attention. In this part the hospital is worse. It has facilities available but that is not enough for all the patients. I go to eye centre there the condition is not bad enough but I have seen very wrong part in cancer department. Patients with cancer start to make queue since 4 am. And registration starts from 9 am means patients are standing for 5 hours to get their no. and yet it is not fixed that they should be tested today as the hospital limits them. Also no proper bed available for patients. They simply lied on floor with no facility. One can only imagine what this scene would be.So I think in medical care part aiims is worse. Also when I got my fully eye checkup in 3 appointments which take time of 3 months. And I hear that some cancer and extreme patients gets their appointment in 2-3 years means when they are no longer available.Attitude of staff is not bad. Doctors observe patients with giving their full time. And reply all questions in case of me. In my every appointment dictor gave me 10-12 minutes time. And they hear carefully and patiently my problems. Person on opd was also good. Other staffs were properly doing their work. Cleaning staff was consistently trying to clean the area but due to rush there was much dust.So in my opinion staff were good with their attitude. From my experience I would recommend not to go to aiims in case if you are capable because you have too much problem there in waiting and less faciity. If you are not than you have no other option than going.Thank you.

All India Institute of Medical Sciences - New Delhi (AIIMS New Delhi) is a public hospital and medical research university based in New Delhi, India. The institute operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and is governed by the AIIMS Act, 1956. The idea of AIIMS arose in 1946, after a recommendation by the Health Survey of the Government of India. From then to the establishment and development of AIIMS (New Delhi) over the ensuing years, several illustrious individuals played their part in bringing the idea to fruition. Originally proposed by the then Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru for establishment in Calcutta, it was established in New Delhi following the refusal of Chief Minister of West Bengal Bidhan Chandra Roy. The foundation stone of AIIMS Delhi was laid in 1952. On February 18, 1956, the then Minister of Health, Rajkumari Amrit Kaur, introduced a new bill in the Lok Sabha, that would eventually become the AIIMS Act. “It has been one of my cherished dreams that for post graduate study and for the maintenance of high standards of medical education in our country, we should have an institute of this nature which would enable our young men and women to have their post graduate education in their own country,” she said. The old and new main OPD blocks at AIIMS, New Delhi are named after her. When the bill was adopted in May 1956, it became the All India Institute of Medical Sciences Act, 1956.
