★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Akhil Bhartiya Grahak Panchayat (ABGP) is a social initiative with nationwide reach with the sole objective of protecting the interests of the consumers so that they may enjoy their rights optimally and must be aware of it. The social organization works actively at various fronts viz. guiding and supporting the consumers when their rights are infringed. Be it related to electricity, any purchase, availing of any service ranging from banking to Railways, airlines to water; they help at all the fronts. Secondly, it acts as a mediator between consumers and governmental/private entities so that the matters get resolved amicably, swiftly and satisfactorily. The organization extends all possible support even if a complaint has to be filed at the Court of Justice and ensure that consumers get justice in minimum possible time.
The entity files suo moto Public Interest Litigations (PIL) in order to address bigger issues and concerns covering hundreds of thousands of consumers. ABGP acts a prudent advisor to the governments, both Central and States so that they may take consumer-friendly measures via stringent laws and drives. ABGP works towards empowering Young Turks by spreading awareness regarding a range of issues related to consumers, their rights and its violations. They do it via introducing Consumer Clubs in schools/colleges/varsities and also by organizing talks, discussions at the the educational establishments with their and external experts on Consumer Rights and its Protection.
The Indore branch that came into being in May, 2015 stays opened for twenty four hours and like all the other branches, it is managed and operated by purely selfless and highly devoted and dedicated activists and social thinkers. It has also a well-equipped contemporary Seminar Hall which may house around eighty people. It acts as a haven for various result-oriented activities related to consumer awareness and protection. The organization also gives it out on nominal charges to other entities that wish to conduct some meaningful discussions, interactive workshops and seminars.
