Alliance Française de Delhi - New Delhi
About Alliance Française de Delhi
An eminent commercial and travel photographer, Aditya Arya began professional photography in 1980 after graduating in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. In addition to his wide-ranging Commercial and Travel portfolio, his work has been published widely in books and travel magazines around the world. He is known for his expertise in the field of advertising and corporate photography, specializing in Products, Interiors, and Food. Over the last few years, he has been completely immersed in the subject and practice of photographic conservation. He has honed his skills and knowledge on preservation, restoration, and archiving particularly through the documentation of historic photographic works from the famous Kulwant Roy Collection of the pre and post-independence era. He has played a pivotal role in the establishment of the India Photo Archive Foundation and the Neel Dongre Awards/Grants for Excellence in Photography. At present, while also actively pursuing his professional advertising and commercial assignments, he divides his time between his photography archive and Museo Camera – the only Photography and Camera Museum in India. With more than 2000 rare and iconic cameras and other equipment, this museum traces the history of photography from the 1870s to the Digital Era. Today in the fast-paced world of megapixels he is also immersing himself in the slowness of analog processes and at the same time slowing down many born-digital photographers and artists by mentoring them. Aditya has also turned alchemist and artist practicing and teaching the art of vintage photographic processes such as salt prints, egg albumen prints, gum bichromate, and wet plate photography.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Undoubtedly one of the coolest places to visit in Delhi, Alliance Française boasts of an amazing auditorium, an exciting exhibition space and of course, a fabulous French institute - all in one. Must visit during DesignXDesign events, especially the 20under35 Annual Exhibition.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They make their own rules and never try to bend a little for their students no matter how hard you try . Even if you choose your own batch according to your preference and they have some issue with it they are willing to throw you into some random batch with new students and teachers . This happened with me twice .
Also some of their teachers are really bias towards the students , they choose a few and just focus on them .
Would not recommend it to others .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I agree with what other students are saying. Lots of teachers cannot pronounce french words properly so how can they teach them? Classes are taught mainly in english and hindi and there is no way to give feedback about teachers. Online classes are also crammed so quiet students are ignored.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's the Indo-France cultural centre. Lots of programs keep happening here, like exhibitions, panel discussions, film screenings, etc.
It has the biggest French library in Delhi. .
The rest of the building mostly has classrooms, apart from a cafeteria and a beautiful terrace.
They conduct language courses, as well as mentoring sessions for students wanting to study in France.
If you love French culture, then whether you study here or not, it is a must visit!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Teachers teaching online barely put in any efforts. Poor front desk service. There's no refund of fees in case of cancellation of registration. Front desk stops answering calls and you literally have to beg them to send replies to your emails. It is a renowned institute that teaches French and the crowd is good. Other than this, there is no reason to opt for this institute.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Teachers are not at all willing to support the students. They're in their own mad rush of finishing the course and do not help the students gain confidence. But they question the students when they give a right answer, making the students questions themselves.
Also, they charge a lot of money just because they're related to the French Embassy. The teachers are not supportive. The admin staff isn't supportive. There's no way to complain about teachers and no way about giving your feedback. The teachers are highly experienced yet unwilling to teach or understand what the students say.
