Apollo Cradle & Children's Hospital - Bengaluru

I had my baby delivered here at Apollo cradle koramangala. I would like to share my personal experience about this hospital on whole. There's so much to tell about them that I'm leaving 2 reviews. Please do read them for a better understanding of the hospital. REVIEW 1 Doctors: I was referred to Dr. Prajwal Hegde from alot of people and friends and family. With all honesty she is the best doctor anyone could ever ask for. I have consulted a few doctors but nobody to compare with her. She is genuine, gives ample amount of time to her patients, is always available anytime of the day and builds a personal relationship. But apart from being sweet and experienced the one thing that tops it all is that she made me go through normal delivery! I had no hope for normal. But she motivated me and was stern that she'd do normal delivery for me. Along with Dr. Prajwal, Dr. Seema was amazing. During my labour Dr. Seema assisted me the whole time, built confidence when I had absolutely given up on normal delivery and wanted to go for c section. Dr. Seema kept me going through out my labour and was extremely sweet and made sure I don't give up during the long hours of my labour. Her duty was over but still she stayed with me all day and night while I was in labour. Excellent doctor.! They both make an amazing team. And would recommend everyone to go to them.!! Staff : the housekeeping (helper aunties) were really nice and sweet. Cannot complain about them.. Gayatri ,Shakuntala, Kavita. Jhansi really helped me in and out of the washroom and with the sitz bath. But not all staff was good. The night maintenance guy was rude, lazy and also didn't know his job. Mr. Hemanth couldnt solve our issues or assist us. When the ac didn't work he argued with us saying that the weather is so cold why do we need ac. Apart from Mr. Hemanth the worst of the worst experience that i had was with the photographer.. The team that came for the photoshoot was horrible. First of all they didmt come to take the pictures and made us wait 5 hours after our discharge time when they came their attitude was soo bad and the man was rude, didn't corporate and told us that we need to select the photos fast since he doesn't have time to waste and we were wasting his time with questions. The man also seemed like he hadn't slept for days and was very unprofessional. Unfortunately I didn't get his name but I did raise a complain with the reception during checkout. My relative had delivered in the month of March '20 and the photographer then was brilliant. But this guy was pathetic!

We had our first baby delivery here (Shivani) and the entire process were smooth. Many many thanks to Dr. Poornima mam as she’s very straight about the process from starting to end. In simple words ‘Follow what doctor says and it happens as told’. Also I would appreciate Manjula mam for assisting us through out the delivery from the management side.

Apollo cradle had been our go to hospital since the birth of our first child in 2019. The staff were attentive and explanation of offers were in par with the actuals. We had opted for Apollo cradle this year again for our second childbirth, the relationship manager who explained us the offer had it all wrong and she had left by the time of delivery, we had to pay huge bills. Huge discrepancy in what was explained and what she had filled in as our details. Seems like the hospital is just money oriented and gone for a toss!

I am giving my personal experience about this hospital . Except Doctors remaining all aspects are too worst and No proper care for babies and mother. Below are the few points that needs to know you all .Even they wont provide water bottle for mother. Doctors : I want to say big thank you to Dr. Krishna Shaw. From the beginning she has guided us very well and Doctor explanation was very cool and clear .No hesitation on answering our queries. Always positive and supportive to mother . I have attached my billing detail images Please go through that and you will get a clear picture on the package. very very Miserly. First thing you all have to know about the Package. while discussing about the package with Manjula make sure about more details . Please Read below matter for 5 mins you will get good idea about Package Below are the extra charges they did apart from Package Don't get shocked : 1.water bottle (Single water bottle is also chargeable , If you want water they have water filters you have to go there and bring it . No house keeping will come and give you . If you call to them then they will tell you to go and get ) 2.Masks ( when doctor comes to visit they use mask ,that also is chargeable) 3.Wet wipes (even single wet wipe also they wont provide in package one packet they charged 350 (pack of 72 Himalaya it's actual cost 200 )) 4.Diapers ( Single Diaper is also chargeable. it is not included in package ) 5. Medical Record maintenance ( I don't understand this charges it cost 1500 for mother and Babies ) 6. ID Band for mother and baby ( Even the band that they will put for mother and baby after delivery is chargeable -not included in package ) 7.Tissues ( If you ask Tissues they will give just 10 tissues one time .if you call second time they wont come on same day, they will come next day only) 8.Doctor Visiting charges ( It wont include in Package : From Day -1 including delivery day they will charge the doctor consultation charges each consultation will be 1200 per doctor ) It will only cost you extra 10,000 -(10K) 9.Alcohol swab it costs Rs . 2/- . they have included this ii. Reception : They wont care about patients and babies at billing they will take lot of time to do the billing . iii. Nursing : My Personal experience about Nursing in this hospital is '0' -zero. They wont care about babies and mother . They will handle babies very rudely and if you ask them to change Diaper they will get angry . iv. Billing Department : Here you wont get any clarity on billing . you will get confused what they covered in Package . v. Parking : There is no Vehicle parking vi. Scanning : Don't go to this hospital for Pregnancy scans . Those scans and the matter will not be clear . They wont mention even umbilical cord on scans . vii. House Keeping : except One or two members remaining all don't have patience . Jhansi was one of the housekeeping person who did well for mother and baby.

I went for a medical procedure here. Listing all the unbiased positives and negatives my family and I felt during 1.5 days of stay here. Positives 1. Doctors, nurses, house keeping staff were very trained, well behaved and excellent. 2. Rooms are spacious. Ac was working all the time. They arranged a table fan also on my repeated requests. They allowed all 3 of us family members to sit in the room itself without any restrictions. The side sofa was big enough for 1 family member to spend a night. No issues on the room front. 3. Like any other hospital, they also add some extra charges but I felt the added charges were less compared to the other hospitals. Billing was reasonably transparent. 4. Food quality is fine for patients. 5. Housekeeping staff is very good. They clean your room on demand. Negatives 1. Discharge takes unreasonably high amount of time. It's a total pain in the s. I informed them at 6.30am for discharge but they said their billing person would come at 10am and he would start the discharge process. This 3.5 hours of wait was totally unnecessary if they had appointed some person before itself. Overall, they took 9.5 hours to discharge. The insurance company just took 2 hours in this total 9.5 hours, meaning the delay of 7.5 hours was on their side. We had no option but to wait. 2. The food comes to your room after 1-2 hours of ordering. Cant depend upon them. 3. None of the Washrooms (room and common area) had any handwash available. I haven't seen this anywhere. 4. I felt for every little thing, I had to remind nurses, reception, billing people 2-3-4 times before it could finally happen. They needed to be followed up. 5. There is only single lift in the hospital which is a big no in case of emergencies. No adult icu at the hospital. The OT room condition is not good. Overall, it's a slightly above average experience, but not excellent. If you can deal with the issues mentioned above, go for it, otherwise go for a better one like C9, MH etc.

Very Expensive!!, as it works as a corporate. For people with medical insurance, this hospital is a great deal. Hospitality is good, wait time is less for people who take appointments. Apollo performs some basic tests for babies. These are not clearly communicated to the doctor itself. Its like going behind people to get these details and nothing was clearly explained and I would say not very transparent. Overall a good hospital for people with money or insurance.

I am happy to share my experience in Apollo Cradle .... With good care and treatment of our loveable Dr. Prajwal Hegde, Sister Sukanya and other hospital staffs... Me and my wife blessed with cute Baby Girl. Thanks for the support. Would suggest for this hospital for safe and happy pregnancy.

So EXPENSIVE for the stay and Labour SERVICE... I think GOVT HOSPITALS are better...OYO stay charges 300rs for just stay and provide best of the best services but here they charge (91000rs) for (48 hrs) and NO proper AC it is only a FAKE FAN working in bad condition and they have SHORTAGE for BLANKETS.... no TV.... Old walls smells bad... no CAR parking, no BIKE parking, no WATER BOTTLES provided...i am REGRETTING for bringing my PREGNANT WIFE for Labour here and don't recommend anyone to be here it is a painful experience....at GOOGLE MAPS and locations photos of the HOSPITAL and wards are shown like a 7 STAR hotel but inside its worse to experience and waste of money and expecting happiness for your new born child over here will turn into a PUNISHMENT for choosing a place for birth of your DREAM BABY .. ?
