★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It might be situated at a perfect location. But the people seated there are the rudest and arrogant people I HV come across. It is supposedly set up as Assam tourist information centre and lodge by Govt of Assam. But they denied us room although we went there with an office order issued by Govt of Assam,saying that the meaning is not clear. further the behavior of each one of them, be it the ones at the reception or the management was so rude, impolite,arrogant and callous. We told them that we had been travelling since morning (it was around 6:30 pm when we two girls reached) and was really tired and unfamiliar in the city with charge in the cell running out but they were not even ready to listen to us, forget about any body offering any suggestion or cooperation regarding any taxi or other proper hotel booking in a safe locality . it was a horrible experience with some indifferent people. Avoid the place ,
do your booking in some good hotel or guest hotel online.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4 Yrs back I had to stay there in dormitory as i was insisted by my friend . I was shocked atI the very rude behaviour of the person who was at reception . I dnt knw his name bthis imageis still in my mind,. He might b the receptionist. At first he was not willing to talk to us saying tht rooms r not avlbl. Upon my friend's request he talked to us aftr 20 minutes s .He behaved as if the bhaban is his fathers' property. I was about to complain against his rude behaviour,

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice homely stay and good delicious Assamese food available. However the room service segment can be improved. Having said this you will not regret staying in Assam House, Kolkata. TRY IT! STAFF ARE COURTEOUS AND FRIENDLY?
