★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An age-old, highly respected and widely loved, traditional Durga Puja with a very approachable, proactive and supportive puja committee. The pandal is always done with minimalist simplicity and the deity is always made in the traditional unified family 'ekchela' Bengali style, dressed very elegantly with a gorgeous headdress and sari. During the Pujas there is a bustling and popular fairground on both sides of the approach road. The open grounds are fenced in on three sides, with the gated approach road leading up to the permanent pavilion that houses the goddess each year.
An easy 20 minute walk from Shyambazar or 10 minute walk from Shovabazar metro station. Auto-rickshaw routes are also available close to both stations. There's a public toilet right beside the entrance gate and a food market and street food shops close by. It is also close to the river.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bagbazar Sarbojonin is one of the oldest Durga puja in kolkata...it's 10-15 minutes walking distance from Shyambazar 5point. In 2021 we visited there and posting some pictures of pandel and Ma Durga.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Since my childhood this is a must visit durga puja.The idol of durga maa is made in a traditional manner and its massive in height.This is a nostalgic place for me which gives a old kolkata aroma and vibes that BANGALI are incomplete without this visit.Atleast I can't imagine my pandal hoping without this .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the place where you can see the eternal face, idol of Maa Durga along with Maa Laxmi, Maa Saraswati, Ganesh & Kartick thakur and their bahans & definately Asur. Pure north Kolkata feelings comes to your mind & heart when you visit here. The mukut, chalchitro, jharbati... You will definately feel nostalgic. No words are enough to describe the total atmosphere. Its goose bumping ... If you do not see it yet, then you did not see anything regarding Maa Durga idol.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bagbazar Dugotsab Committe is on of the oldest puja committee in the northern part of the capital city of calcutta. Located at river bank of ganges in Bagbazar are also bring that mesmesring atmosphere with nostalgic vibe. One can witness that being there during this auspicious festival that every house, shops, roads even every settlements are very old. And during the durga which is prevalent in calcutta comes up with cultural twist with nostalgic ever present vibe make this place unforgettable. Actually entire the north calcutta is very nostalgic. Some say this was actual calcutta during british period and south calcutta is newly made after 1947 although some parts of southern calcutta is also very old but majority portion of it later made.
They puja committee comes up with their authentic same barowari(for public) style idol with glorious big eyes which also their signature form with a big chandelier atop in the middile of the pandal. Which thousands of visitors every day during 5days of puja. Although it's a little crowded place but one would not get everything in single platter. One should feel fortunate if getting authentic cultural vibe with age old traditional touch in a place which considered as oldest part of calcutta. So do visit this place during puja. This is to be noted that in this year of 2021 they completed their 103 years of puja.
