★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bai Harir Vav is a spectacular place and heritage site which is so peaceful and cold even in summers. As you head up inside it has beautiful carvings on each stone of the place and pillars. Do visit this place if you ever visit ahmedabad.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Historic place (1500 AD). Archaeological monument. Deep step well adjacent to a mosque. Detailed carvings on the stone walls & pillars. No entry fee. Parking on the congested road outside. One rectangular well and another circular well at the centre.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautiful step well with carvings, columns and steps going down. At each landing there are very nice carvings. A mosque and mazhar is there at end of the vav.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a hidden gem and has not attracted enough visitors for some weird reason but is on the unesco heritage list within AMD. Loved the solitude here and opportunity to take pics and enjoy the carvings on the walls. Lovely place with a mosque on the back side along with the tomb of the lady who build it - visit it and get some lovely clicks.
Pro tip: there's a police outpost on the left of entrance, park in front of it and you'll be fine. Place looks shady, but is safe - no worries.
