★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This playground is basically a well pruned and preserved area of land meant for people to come and relax, enjoy and spend some time away from the routine of their homes and work. It is located in Baisakhi Abasan in AG Block of Sector 2 of Salt Lake City in Calcutta.
The playground is meant for the residents of AG Block to come in the mornings and evenings to spend their leisure time in the open and fresh air of the park, away from their congested homes and busy environments.
In the mornings, in these parks children come with their parents or elders for walks, exercises and jogging, while, in the evening time they are again there for playing and having a good time after a heavy school routine. On the open space in a park, we can see children, the bigger ones playing games like badminton, cricket, and hockey, while the small ones enjoy the slides and swings.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After a long gap of two years I visited this abasan play ground and felt so sad to see all the odds arround this play ground. In the children park area most of the child sports utilites are out of order or broken. Ground condition is same, not cleaned. The fountain also treated as garbage dumping tank. Children dolna or see saw is totally damaged. I think all the guardian along with children suffering badly as the COVID situation now lifting gradually. The Bidhan Nagar Municipal Corporation should take immediate steps to solve this. Beside this children play area this large play ground has no proper lightings in the late evening. Some addicted people now get a big chance to gather and take alcohol or some drugs instead of sports activities.please do needful action for the healthy physical condition of the nearby children's future.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Baisakhi play ground, near Baisakhi bus stand, is one of the oldest grounds at Salt Lake city. I have been playing at this ground since more than 30 years. Cricket is the game that is being played the most in general. There is a cricket coaching camp as well at this ground. Some local junior boys play football as well. There is Spencer's retail shop just opposite to the ground in the AMP Baisakhi Mall and on the roof top of the Mall, we have football and cricket turf.
Baisakhi play ground is spacious. However the ground shape is neither square nor round nor rectangular nor oval. It has a random shape and throughout the day some people or the other use it to play either football or cricket.
Currently there is a proper cricket pitch which is in the making which means that professional cricket tournament will be played in the days to come.
