★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kharagpur–Bankura–Adra line was opened in 1901. This railway track including Bankura Junction railway station was electrified in 1997–98. Old narrow-gauge Bankura–Damodar Railway (also called as Bankura Damodar River Railway) connecting Bankura and Rainagar in Bankura and Bardhaman districts was opened to traffic in sections between 1916 and 1917. In 2005, the 118 kilometer-long railway section known as Bankura–Masagram line was converted to 1,676 mm (5 ft 6 in) broad gauge.[2] The whole track was electrified in 2018–19.[3

It has 3-4 platforms.
Bankura - Masagram Memu departs from platform no 2.
Overall. The railway station is very good.
One more thing.- in this station there is no heavy food stall. You can buy light fiod s like idly, dhosa etc and snacks.
Free wifi is availble but don't know why there is prblm connecting to the wifi

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bankura Railway station is situated in Bankura, West Bengal. Station code of Bankura is BQA. Nice and clean station. But sometimes train announcements are not made on time. Although there is an IRCTC shop on the platform, but it is closed most of the time. However, the railway workers at the helpdesk center are very kind and humble
