This cantonment holds many significant historical events and monuments for which it is very famous in India. It was also the place of retreat and an adorable place for many British Governors. The Barrackpore Cantonment is enveloped in lush of greenery and rejuvenating environment which gives a taste of its rich majesticity. The encapped historical context tangled with this cantonment exhilarates one with proud and provides the reminiscence of old British Era. There are many points of attraction and the enchanting scenario of the mighty river Ganga which are worthy of visiting. But, many places are also restricted to visit and enter by the Army. Many educational institutions are also situated at the same place. Overall this is an exciting place to explore and loose yourself in the mesmerizing grandiose of Barrackpore Cantonment.
