★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Man!!! This is THE school. Established in 1837, this is reputed for its heritage and gold standard of education not just in Barrackpore but also all around the city. Having an excellent track record in academics, this schools has also produced pioneers in many fields of life. Teachers still strive hard to maintain the fame with their support and knowledge and care for pupils. And students are also hard working (well quite a no. of them, at least :p ). Once you are admitted, you'll surely fall in love with this Bengali medium school. Learning environment? Check. Labs and infrastructure? Check. Playground? Check. Extracurricular activities? Check.
Just get into the school. Rest...you'll understand.

The district hospital, named Dr. B.N.BOSE was the student of this school. Many scholar came out from this famous school. As a local student and gurdian of a student, I fell proud of this school.

Yes, I’m an ex-student of Barrackpore Government High School (BGHS) and I have spent more than decade in this school. Established in 1837 by Lady Emily Eden, BGHS have heritage buildings with British Architecture along with a huge field which makes the school campus super attractive.
Barrackpore government high school have it’s own reputation for heritage and gold standard education. Having an excellent track record in academics and this schools has produced pioneers time to time in many fields.
BGHS has a very friendly atmosphere to it. It has an environment that stimulates people to learn new things. The one thing that stands out at BGHS is that the school has a unique “everyone-knows-everyone” feel. That has never changed throughout my 10+ years at school.
One of the luckiest things to have is a happy childhood and Barrackpore government school is an unforgettable part of my awesome childhood. School days are the happiest days of my life.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is one of the best schools in Barrackpore. Situated just beside the B.T.Road near Talpukur. Established in the British period. The building of the school is heritage site. The ambience is very nice. A lot of trees are there inside the school premises. But as the school building is very old it is hard to maintain properly.
