Earlier the temple premises were quite neat and clean. This time i saw it's little dirty, may be due to construction work. Priests r very greedy,if you don't fulfill their expectations they may go to any length .

Excellent place to visit and get blessings of mother Durga.I have visited Maa Biraja temple with my family and fortunate enough to get darsan of Maa.The entire trip was full of joy and inner spiritual happiness which can not be described in words. If Mata Rani wishes then only you can visit her and get all the blessings. This place is highly charged with energy and a devotee can perceive it if Mother wishes.Request all Shaktas to visit this place and attain enlightenment and sidhi. I am rating Maa Biraja temple as the most powerful Shakti peetha in the entire Universe.

The Maa Biraja temples complex is one of several major historic monuments in Jajpur, Odisha region. The Biraja temple is to the south of the town, near the group of temples in Trilochanpada. This is a Devi-Shakti Hindu temple from the goddess tradition. Considered a Shakti Peetha – a major Shaktism pilgrimage – the temple is a square plan, pancharatha rekha deul architecture. The oldest monuments here are from the 9th century, but extensive additions along with modern era plaster and paint hides some of the original artwork. Sections of the temple walls and pillars are original, can be studied and admired for the sophisticated details as well as iconographic symbolism. The temple also has a pushkarini (water tank). Some sections are under renovation in 2021, expected to be complete by 2022. The temple remains active and the artwork along with the Shiva linga sculpture shed remains open to history enthusiasts, along with the pilgrims.

1) Time taken to reach the temple from Bhubaneswar Patia is about 2:30-3 hours. Actually we had taken a break for breakfast as we started from home early morning. Overall it might be around 2:20 mins. 2) The only challenge we faced at the place is the public rest room outside the temple perimeter is not clean even if they charge 5/- per person. It’s not maintained at all. 3) Just outside the temple perimeter, there is ample space for vehicle parking. 4) we had a wonderful and peaceful Darshan of Biraja Maa without any crowd or any pull/push of pandas/public 5) The temple perimeter has 7-8 more temples with lot of spaces to roam around. For elders it is a very comforting place as not much stairs to climb and they can sit under a tree if tired or during summer days 6) from temple about 3-4 km there is a Dasashwamedh Ghat which is Beside Brahmani river where people perform Pind Dana rituals. 7) It is said, that the Garva Griha within temple perimeter does not need any cleaning. Once Pind offered here, the Pind only goes to the centre of earth and it never gets filled. Nice concept I found it, as this place is one of the 51 Shakti Peeth of Maa Shakti where “NAVI” of Maa Shakti fell here.

A good temple with ample of sapcaes and having a number of small temples inside the premises of man Gods. The priests are money oriented here which many devotees complain and annoying too.The evening ararti is very special and mind blowing.

One of the Ashtadasha Shaktipeethas. Powerful place this and one can experience the vibrations within a short duration of Meditation/Dhyan. Like most devotees have mentioned before priests are money minded. They are not happy with the dakshina offered but demand for a certain amount. But one must look beyond these irritations to experience the ambience of this temple.
