β β β β β Premier members-only, British colonial era private sports and dining club in Mumbai (originally built for British officers and their families during the British Raj). Very exclusive- closed for permanent membership. Otherwise very difficult and v expensive to get - years on the waiting list. Rugby/football/cricket ground in the heart of downtown Mumbai. Swimming pool, superb badminton, squash and tennis courts. Nice library. Good food (Chinese, Indian & western), and gr8 air-conditioned bar especially during event nights. Cheap, cheap food and drinks - subsidized for members. In-house grocery store, air conditioned 'dark' room for men (only!) to have a quick nap in anytime they like! Superb changing rooms with lockers, in-house hairdresser and masseuse (cheap cheap). Highly recommended if you get the chance to visit!
