A beautiful Railway Station. Sleepy in the lap of nature. Forest and hills all around. Awakes when the train passes through or stops here for a while or changes track for the Chirmiri. A station that marks the outermost boundary of Chhattisgarh with adjoining Madhya Pradesh. 'Bara' (बड़ा) with Chutney (चटनी) is what people awaits for this station. It lies between Ambikapur and Anuppur/Shahdol rail section. If you stop here, shall feel like visiting Ruskin Bond or R.K. Narayan's Malgudi's stories of railway station live. Only one railway gumti, sits idle when there is no train. His 'Bara' (बड़ा) and Chutney (चटनी) preparation starts well before the train arrival. You may find school kids strolling beside the track, searching for wild berries. They might have come from the nearby Bijuri for their rewarding-Sunday-exploration-trip. 'Bara' (बड़ा) with Chutney (चटनी), wild berries, strolling beside the rail track through hills, monsoon time; -- they all attract a 'child', if we elders are lucky to have that one still with us.. !! (my writing inspiration were gang of Bijuri school kids; Aakash class 8th clk lusra Bijuri, Ankit Gupta 7th, Rahul 7th, Tribhwan 7th, Shani 5th. And thankfully Pankaj Naik from Boridand. They all were my friend for that fateful day, the 20th December 2015).
