Here is how they looted my friend:
- He had a broadband connection in one location(not giving correct location so they don't start harrassing him again)
- He had to shift to a different location, so he sent a request to shift the connection.
- In new location he never got a telephone line to his house even after 100s of follow-ups and complaints and chasing for 3 months he got the connection from another private company and got busy in his life.
- Now after 4-5 years when his life was going good. He got a call from police station that there is a request for FIR, come to police station.
- We both went there and found out that there is a bill of Rs 40,000.
- There policeman suggested him to go to BSNL Exchange and get it settled else he will have to file an FIR.
- He explained this scenario to him to which he said I can understand your problem but it can only be settled in BSNL office. He can only hold the FIR for a week.
- We went to BSNL Exchange Recovery Department. And explained everything to them and also shown them in their bills that address is changed as connection transfer request was made and it was never connected that's why there is no usage showing while bills of old location had usage. They agreed to it and said that they will reduce the bill and after their closed room discussion they called him and said you pay Rs. 8000, we can't reduce it below that. To which he agreed thinking that it's official settlement. He gave them 8000 and got a no due slip and a receipt of Rs 2500. To which they said we have worked a lot we also need some money, as if they are not getting Salary from BSNL.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's the city exchange, but doesn't look like it is. I had to go way inside the quarter with no one to guide me n no sign posts. Luckily found the main office, with construction still going on. Although the service was quick and the personnel guided me to the point, but I couldn't get my work done due to some stupid policies. Anyway couldn't hurt to put out more outlets for general public convinience.
