Budher Forest Rest House - Undawa
Uttarakhand Forest Development Corporation (UAFDC) is a statutory body constituted by the State Government. The Corporation was formed for the better preservation, supervision and development of forest also for better exploitation of forest produce within the State and for matters connected there with.
The Corporation has been progressing forward not only in its financial aspect but also has taken a big leap in the direction of diversification of its activities.
The Corporation has added the collection and disposal of minor minerals from the rivers situated inside reserved forest areas, collection and marketing of medicinal plants and Eco tourism in its works apart from the removal of dead, dying and uprooted trees as allotted by the Forest department.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This solitary place is a government owned rest house that is only open when previous arrangements are made. It is in the middle of the Undawa forest and a brick-laid path leads to it from the nearest road head. The path seems like it works during half the year and is blocked/closed/risky during the winter and monsoon months.
The trail to Moila Tibba passes from behind this guest house. It is fenced and gated and is locked. The lawns and views from there are beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The rest house is built in a very beautiful place which is covered all around with deodar trees.
Its booking is being done through kanasar or kalsi and let me tell you all you can't go directly there and make the booking,so just check for the booking before you go there.
Besides the rest house their is a small canteen which serves soft drinks, tea, snacks and maggi and eggs.Its maggi is super yummy and it's the only place that lies when you go up for budher caves.

You need to track about 2.5km.. that will take 35 to 50 minutes based on personal level of fitness....
At this point you can park your vehicles, have tea and snacks...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Don't know for what purpose this is made for. May be for the guests of government or for government employees. From this point trekking for Budher peak start, which is 3.5 kms long root. It is a easy trekking trek. For those who have problems related to lungs, should avoid this trek or they should take early stops in the way. The very important point here is , this is the last point where one should get drinking water. After this point you will not find a single drop of drinkable water. So arrange water here. On the trek thirst increases.
