★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Deoban Forest Rest House is situated in Deoban (means "God's Own Forest"), Chakrata at a height of 2900 mtrs.
Surrounded by the dense forest of Deodar trees, it consists a wide species flora and fauna. Small lush green meadows amidst the Deodar trees presents unforgetfull picturesque moments. Vyas Shikhar, the highest peak of Deoban is only 200 mtrs away from this FRH and provides a panoramic view of Himalaya.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ FRH Deoban is not for the ppl looking for luxury unless u have links with the Forest/government officials to provide u with resources. There's no water/electricity/network... And that's the best part... living in pure nature... The FRH is surrounded by jungles in all the sides though depending on season a close by gujjar village is occupied. An attendent provides u with basic food and we we're lucky to enjoy hot pakodas of some local leaves.

Best forest guest house i ever seen. It is 16 km from main road. Road is made of stone and very steep and narrow. If you are good driver then you can drive your car. 4 rooms are available for booking, which can be reserved from Kalsi forest office.
No electricity till date.
No mobile network.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Roads to this place is not paved and thus is strewn with small rocks and stones. In such a situation, it is advisable to leave your own vehicle and hire a local cab to visit this place. The forest is picturesque and the peak, Vyas Peak, has a panoramic view of the Himalayan range. One can reach the peak after a small trek of 0.55 km from the forest rest house.
The forest rest house is situated beautifully with a very wide and lovely meadow in just the front of the rooms. The rest house is the only building in an area of about a 10 square kilometre.
In the winter months one can see snow here although any sort of animal sighting is unheard of.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Cant express the place in words, just surrounded by nature, its little hard to reach there. Perfect place to enjoy nature, peace and self. One can meditate there without any disturbance as there is no electricity and a little of network. Rooms are with a traditional look that enhances its beauty. The care taker Daulat ram was a wonderful guy as well. Will love to visit again very soon.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Awesome peaceful place. I'm just loving it!!! There are two routes to reach forest guest house. The one shown by google map is vaya deoban village which includes a few kilometers trekking to reach guest house. The other way is jst complete offroad for almost 12-15 kms. This route is visible in satellite view of map. This road starts from a few kilometers after chakrata deoban village road from right side. Although I saw locals running alto car on that road but an suv (maybe small) would be preferred if you are a city driver. There is a commando training camp in the way by name Spider. There is no electricity at the guest house & also water is available very limited. Charges are very very reasonable. Cemented camp site platform are also present there. Carry all ur eatables with u. U can also carry raw food & can get it cooked there for a minimal charge. Phone network is also very very poor there.
