★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First thing first, the taste of dishes are awesome. Though there are many Irani restaurant in town but I insisted to visit this. In first look it was small but to get a place to seat was very easy. I enjoyed mutton keema and Pao. My encounter with Keema in an Irani restaurant was awesome. I loved this. The food was tasty. And most importantly this place is inexpensive and I enjoyed my breakfast with team mate just under Rs 300/-. Services were very good and staffs were very helpful. Utensils were clean. If you consider yourself a traveller you must visit this and share the experience. I advice to go once and check.

Specials on everyday check the menu board
3 n 1/2 Star to be precise
Rustic, good ol fashioned Irani place
Free seating, smell of freshly baked Bun & Brun
Special menu for everyday of the week & the regular Irani menu
Love the Brun Maska & they apply a very generous amount of maska
Special Tea was just perfect to go with it
Mutton kheema Ghotala was delicious, perfectly spiced & very filling
Must visit at any time of the day, Mutton/Chicken biryani on Fridays

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Aga Irani the owner ushered me in with utmost love and respect and brought me the kheema pulav himself. The kheema was spicy and tasty. The tea and bun maska was good. Very reasonable and worth thousand times of the expensive joints around He also let me stay for a long time in cafe after he found out I was waiting for a bus which was long time away ! Unheard of in a busy Irani Cafe . Charming place, love the no frills authentic Irani vibe. Definitely coming back whenever possible

Some of the iconic places to have shut down include Rhythm House, Café Samovar, and a slew of what were once quintessential breakfast-n-brunch joints, the Irani and Persian Cafes: Bastani & Co., Café Naaz, etc. Thankfully, Cafe Colony at Dadar, among the last of the bastions, is still very much in business. This quaint cafe with its old world charm mostly sticks to original Persian recipes, along with the ever popular Brun & Bun Maska, Tea, flavoured sodas found only in Irani cafes, and several finger-licking omelette variants. Some of their most loved dishes include Mutton Kheema, Special Paya, Chicken Curry and Chicken and Mutton Biryani. the legendary chicken biryani found its way into folklore, when it was cooked in bulk for the wedding of Dr Ambedkar’s grandson. Most food preparations are done in an open kitchen. Café Colony has been around for a long time, 85 years to be precise. The typical wooden chairs, the glass-topped wooden tables, and the simple yet elegant checked floor tiles, all bear testimony to this rich slice of history. In fact, Café Colony has been around for almost as much time as is the Tilak Bridge, on whose East end it is located. So all you history and heritage buffs, go ahead and partake of this unmatched experience!!!!

One of the oldest cafe in mumbai.
Do try bakery items as well.
Good for couples.
Atleast more than 50 years this cafe is running.
Owner is very calm and welcoming interacting with customer and asking how did you like the food.
