I have been a customer for over a decade now but my recent experience has ruined my whole impression of what had been my most favourite cake shop.
They haven't changed their catalogue in all these years so I enquired if they would be able to work on a design provided by me. They agreed on the terms of an additional charge of Rs1000. I placed the order and paid 50% in advance to ensure there was no compromise as it was a cake for a milestone celebration.
But when the cake was cut and served to my guests, everyone started to complain about a bitter taste from the icing and the colour leaving a permanent stain on their hands and mouth, leaving a sore throat. People also experienced stomach upset issues the next day. The colour used in the icing was definitely not of food grade value and the cake was stale. The embarrassment faced and the occasion ruined was irreversible but I thought I should inform them regarding their poor service. At first when I called them and explained the entire incident, they left me on hold for an indefinite period. Then they repeatedly cut my calls. After I called from my other number they received it and reasoned that is how food colour is supposed to taste like??? Am I dumb or is it the first time eating a cake? They vaguely responded by saying they would look into but neither did they promised any refund (for a cake worth of Rs 3450) nor any action taken against the people responsible for risking the health of me, my family and the guests.
DON'T MAKE THE MISTAKE OF ORDERING CAKE FROM CAKES.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The shop is on the opposite side of Siemens, at Rajdanga. On the bypass, from the road one can see it. You can park your vehicle if you turn left. There is a bylane to serve the purpose. Good food but not allowed to stand inside while eating. Products alongwith birthday cakes are very tasty.

The cake was made our midnight cerebration.
Taste was awesome and yummy too.
Highly recommended.
